Hi Bruce,
I appreciate the detailed heads up.👍
Savannah, Georgia is another site of interest. I need to learn more about the panhandle region of Florida as well. At this point I can only tolerate a red state.

I don't have a major issue with Savannah. A somewhat heavy thug area. Votes Blue I think. Ga has income tax. Fl doesn't. Savannah is also somewhat "Hurcun resistant".

Panhandle, I vote for Pensacola. On the water. Home to the Blue Angels. The World's Best airshow in your back yard.
Youtube Blue Angels Pensacola Beach. Their impromptu shows there are righteous.
I doubt he clears the pier by more than 50 feet.

Please define what you mean by “thug” areas? I am not ready to jump to conclusions yet. Just trying to see if it means the same to you as it means to me.

Savannah like most places depends on where you are. Long ago, there were only two ethnicities; those whose families were from there and those whose weren't. Money had nothing to do with it, it was if your family was from there. Now it's become much more homogenous mostly due to migration and industry. Downtown has some nice architecture, but traffic, tourism and cost are an issue (and yes that brings some unwanted issues). If you can afford it, there are some beautiful properties (some gated) on the barrier islands. Also like most other places, construction has gone crazy. Evident by the traffic on I95 (Savannah airport Pooler Parkway and GA/SC state line) Oh, and stay away from Riverstreet during St. Patricks day (week). Never realized how many Irish lived in Savannah.

From the Lexus Care maintenance page: Bringing your vehicle in for service shouldn’t take everything out of you. Every new Lexus comes with LexusCare, which includes complimentary first and second scheduled maintenance services. These services are provided at 6 months/5,000 miles and 12 months/10,000 miles, whichever comes first.*

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

Maintaining the proper schedule for servicing your Lexus will keep it running its best for years to come. Take a look to see which services we perform each 6-month/5,000-mile service interval.*
*Please note that oil changes are performed every 10K miles, except for vehicles using non-synthetic oil, which are performed every 5K miles. See your Warranty and Services Guide for details.

So if you are doing 5K oil changes with synthetic oil, you are wasting your money and time. There is a reason that synthetics were developed. Longevity and better performance than conventional oils. As long as you are driving 'normally' and not going into the mountains every weekend to be speed racer or driving in Phoenix or Palm Springs in the summer heat (100+ degrees) daily or winter weather below freezing below for months, or any other factor that can stress the engine lubrication system, conventional oils can be used. After this many years of usage in F-models with few engine problems despite hard usage, lubrication has never been an issue with this engine. If you drive normally, what ever benefits that synthetics have over conventional oils is non-existent over a 5K-6 month driving interval. Good high quality conventional oils used with high quality filters were just fine before synthetics came around as long as the oil and filter were changed at recommended intervals.

Posted a few days ago.
In this video I walk through a full oil change on my 2025 Lexus LC 500, including torque specs. This should apply to 2018–2025 LC 500 models with the 2UR-GSE V8.

I'm going to DIY my next oil change as well. Paid $9 for the filter and drain plug gasket at my dealer, $100 for the oil (Motul 8100 given track exposure), $8 for the filter wrench. I still need a 10qt oil pan so I guess maybe $15 for that too.

That will work well np especially if u have a lift, so much easier. 14mm socket on the drain plug. 10mm on the forward filter skid plate. 64.3 motiv 14 flute cup wrench. 27mm socket or 1/2 drive for the 14 flute cup filter wrench.

No lift, I wish. Maybe something to think about next year if I continue tracking the LC or pickup a track dedicated car. I have super low profile ramps so I will drive up on those then jack up from front center lift point and place on stands.

Filter wrench I got is 3/8" but I think I have a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter somewhere so that will help so I can use breaker bar if needed but hopefully last oil changer didn't overtighten the filter for no reason

Get a Fumoto Valve already and quit buying drain plugs and gaskets!

I've read about some clearance issues with a Fumoto Valve on the LC. Do you have one installed and if so, which one?
