Just ordered a new LC 500 Coupe- Bespoke Edition- Dealer does not know what is included for the extra $3600.00 Does anyone know for sure? Thanks

Congrats! As you may have questions in the future around timelines and delivery, here's my experience so far, ordering a bespoke in Canada and delivery will be to Toronto area.

• Feb 3rd - Ordered vehicle at dealership
• Feb 20th - Lexus Canada approved order
• Mar 26th - Japan confirmed it's in queue

I'll try to remember to come back here when I get any other updates. My understanding is it's in a bit of a black hole now for another 6-12 weeks.

How did you spec yours?

 

howd oes shipping to ontario work. Is it by boat into Atlantic ocean and then up E coast of US.

 

Yes - my dealer had to call the factory to make sure that they would build the car

Very nice! I think US orders get more options. I got the blue on white/blue. Carbon roof, black wheels, performance package, dark chrome.

I think cold weather is standard on ours. Because of the white/blue interior my alcantara options were limited

 

I have the convertible version of your car with one major tweak: the wheels. At this point, you might consider waiting for the 2025's to see if there are any changes worth adding to your car.

 

From my understanding- the 2025 LC500 will be electric- I think this is the last year (2024) for ICE.

 

Highly highly unlikely the 2025 model will be changed. It might be discontinued, but even then I doubt it. Toyota would have announced it by now. And based on the timing of the deliveries of the new GX, Land Cruiser and Tacoma's, I don't think they're in a position to product a new LC in the next year, let alone announce it, market it, and so forth. Even if it's been fully designed and engineered under wraps. I wouldn't trust any source that told you the 2025 LC will be electric.

Toyota's priorities before a new LC most likely include the new 4Runner, a Rav4 refresh, the new Camry and scaling GX/Land Cruiser/Tacoma production.

 

Based on this, is your goal to buy an LC500 from the last year of the V8? If so, you might want to hold off until Lexus announces that the LC500 has been discontinued. They have been doing "final edition" or "ultimate edition" cars on many of their discontinued vehicles over the last several years, so we will all be given advance notice of the LC500 being discontinued.

 

Yes - i definitely want a V8- No electric for me as of now- If the technology improves as well as the charging time and duration of the charge- I might consider it- but in any case- this is my first Lexus and if I like it- I will convert- my stable over the years has been BMW, Porsche, Land Rover, Corvette and a few exotics.--Looking forward to see what Lexus will come out with in the future.

Toyota / Lexus entire manufacturing process is focused on efficiency. The LC500 just received a suite of technical and interior changes in 2024, which Lexus would not have done on a car that they are going to discontinue in a year or two. Lexus sells under 2000 LC500's a year, there is no incentive to change anything on the LC. Even if a change doubled sales, it's still nothing for a company that sold over 11 million cars last year.

There are just 3 LC500 hybrids on the current allocation sheet. Compare this to 59 LC coupes and 298 LC convertibles. This means that LC500 hybrids account for less than 1% of LC's produced or sold. So there seems to be nearly zero interest in non-V8 LC500's by buyers.

Toyota is well known to be far more interested in hybrids than full EVs. So the next LC, if there is one, will follow every other product on their roadmap. This means a smaller displacement gas engine, 4 or 6 cylinders, have 1-2 turbos, and possibly have hybridization. If you've seen the new Land Cruiser, it went from a 5.7L V8 in the previous generation to a 2.4L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid in the upcoming generation.

But this ^^^ would happen during a full product refresh or redesign, Toyota (to my knowledge) has never fully redesigned a drivetrain while keeping the vehicle largely unchanged.

Long story short: expect the LC to remain in production and largely unchanged for at least 2-3 more years. Expect Lexus to announce the final year of LC500 production, and expect there to be a final special edition that is highly sought after.

Since you're new to Lexus, check out the new GX550 as well. It's a significant redesign from previous GX's and will likely be in the top 2-3 vehicles Lexus sells this year.

just heard on U-Tube- that all V-8 , LC and RC lexus are discontinued in Europe. Expected life span here maybe 2 years or less-- Sad News!! Lexus wanted to be all electric by 2030- MISTAKE!
