Practical tips or non-obvious functions
Was wondering if owners can share some of the non-obvious functions or practical tips they learned while owning the LC.
Those are just some of the things I learned through watching (probably all) LC500 reviews and scanning through the 518 pages of user manual.
Anything you can share that you were surprised to learn or something that changed how you experienced the car?
- For example, it was not obvious for me to learn that you can pair up your individual driver setting with the key. They are automatically recalled when you unlock the car with your key. Great if more than one person drives the car.
- Or that you can re-program the function of the remote to close the windows.
- Or that Lexus dealer can disable certain notification "beeps" like "fasten the seatbelt" or "backup".
- Or that on the convertible you can open the roof "half way" to reveal an additional "storage space" where the roof is typically stored and use that space temporary. Just don't fold the roof while you have stuff in there

- Or that you can block the trunk from being opened from outside or even with the keyfob by using a hidden switch in the glovebox.

While looking at the secret hiding place I noticed one of the two rubber strips seems to be a bit dislodged - this isn’t normal is it?
(to see how this works it helps if you change the dash to show the gear selector graphic, that's moving the gauge cluster to the right then selecting the gear graphic in the info section)
If you hit the left / downshift lever behind the steering wheel it will drop a gear but also put the car into manual mode. Then you hit the upshift lever and it adds the next gear up. But if you HOLD the upshift lever, then it puts the car back into automatic mode.
The one trick I figured out is that you never need to use the shifter to put the car into manual mode.

True, but to me i dont think its a real Manual Mode as you normally flick through the control ****. Its more like a O/D Over Drive which it does let you shift up and down but not really responsive as a real Manual Mode.
I use it all the time on my GS-F sport when changing lane or exit from freeway.
