i was wondering about that nifty backfire that occurs sometimes when downshifting with the paddles and no throttle. it gives you a little rimshot BRAP ,
every once in while, but not always. a backfire used to be thought of as a result fuel ending up in the exhaust manifold;
do you suppose this is the result, or is it by design, by having one of the injectors give a little squirt into an exhaust stroke ?
or maybe just a happy co incidence of both; either way, sure sounds good.
You know that you can unplug the exhaust valves (while engine turned off and keys kept at a distance) and wrap the connectors to protect them from the elements. Afterwards, there will be a permanent symphony of pops and backfires, without generating any codes.
