Ice Storm 2013
Just got power back after 15 hours no power, no heat. 250 000+ homes without power in the Toronto area many still without power. Up to 72 hours to restore power for remaining others.
The trees did not stand a chance, but on a positive note, the IS AWD really shined with the stock Turanzas while I drove around and snapped a few shots.

WOW it is sure frozen up there. I can't imagine 5 hours without electricity with temperatures so low. And that USB! It contrasts nicely with the snowy background. Looks great.

^^^ Yeah would do anything to be in Florida after a day like today. Here's another shot to put things into perspective. No kidding in some spots, almost an inch thick of ice on the trees. No wonder they just snapped.

Love the colour and the car! We got quite a wallop of the ice. I'm glad I salted three times during the freezing rain, so shoveling it was a cinch. Saw my neighbours wailing at their driveways with hammers.
On a side note, which model is your car? I noticed in the fourth picture that you de-badged the 250/350 and AWD, and put the F Sport logo on the back. A bit tacky and distasteful, since the badge is so big compared to the IS lettering, but to each their own.

Oh WOW! The USB just pops in all that beautiful whiteness! Sorry about the miserable weather, you probably don't want me to tell you what the high temps were here yesterday.......

Thanks for the comments folks. Many thousands of homes are still without power and may go beyond Christmas - is the latest news. I do miss the warm summer days, but I actually enjoy driving in this weather since barely anyone is outdoors. Admittedly, as some of you have eluded to, USB in winter just pops out , and when driving the car around especially yesterday, passers-by stared. I keep telling myself it's because of the car/color, and not them wondering who the lunatic is behind the wheel driving the sports sedan in these icy conditions.

Great pictures. It will take years for the damaged trees to recover if they don't die. You're really brave taking the new IS out on ice covered roads, but it's good to hear that it does well on ice covered roads. It's the traffic that makes travelling treacherous.
We had an ice storm several years ago that resulted in significant tree damage and lost power for a week with nightly temperatures approaching zero degree F. Glad we have a gas fireplace to save the plumbing when lengthy outages occur.
