Default Polished my car on a beautiful summer day (PICS)

So recently, I decided to polish my 2006 IS250 again after two years since the last time I did. The past year has been a busy time for me, and to be honest I've been washing it once every few months, driving out everywhere to snowboard/play/etc... Basically it's been taking a beating. I also street park everywhere now and since I work in the Bronx now a valet parks my car in the most cramped garage so I get lots of fresh dings and nicks Also had a few panels repainted rather shabbily (oh well).

I decided that I would try to restore my paint a little bit.

Porter Cable, red pad, Meguiar's Dual Action cleaner & polish, Sonus clay bar, dawn dishwasher detergent, lexus touch up paint, etc..

Without further adieu...

BEFORE

AFTER

I polished the right half of my bumper in this picture. Look at the difference.

Another Before

Another After

Reflection shot off the hood

Not bad for an 06 car, I'd say!

Thanks for looking!

looks great but I think you can make it look even better with something a bit stronger than cleaner polish. What wax or sealant did you use as your protection?

a medium polish like menzerna power finish would be a great one step that will take out light swirls and make that black look like wet oil...

I used four star paint protection. You're probably right - I have a set of very strong polishes. However, I did not want to risk damaging the clearcoat or even worse the paint, so I went a rather conservative step.

Came out nice. I know how hard it is to keep black clean.

It reminds me when i had my obsidian is250...I would wash it every week and fully detail it 2 times a year. When this color is in its prime it truly! Looks amazing! In my opinion. But it's a challenge to keep it that way. I also would take the conservative route in order not ruin the clear coat. Awesome job!

I thought I've read in the past not to use dish soap for as a car wash detergent? Just saying. Results are AWESOME regardless.

^It is not recommended for routine washing, but it can be used to strip remaining wax or sealant from the surface prior to decontamination and polishing.

A better alternative is a citrus based car shampoo like Chemical Guys Citrus Wash.

It helps when your front bumper doesnt look like this after a 30 mile drive on the highway... F'n Kansas. Hate the Midwest.

P.S. Nice cleanup. Also, Sorry to Threadjack.
