Crushed in door...means new paint job! :)
UPDATED PICS ON PAGE 7!!!
Hello fellow Club Lexians....or whatever were all called haha. About 2 weeks ago, a normal day at work, turned into a nightmare. One of the customers backed their car right into my rear drivers door Quite tragic. I warn you, these pics are pretty graphic! haha....
Anyways, the guys insurance is taking care of it. Got a new door from Lexus a few days later...
This isnt just a "got hit and fixing it" thread....Its a "got hit and since im a painter at a body shop getting a new door, i might as well fix all my blemishes, add a couple new parts, and paint the whole car thread" Im going to keep the car desert sage metallic (6U3) but im going semi gloss clear everything going green and normal gloss clear on everything going black. Ill take pics through all of it and keep you guys posted. Ill post pics as often as i can. It should be all done and painted within a couple weeks. Btw, my car is a 2006 IS350

Good choice of painting the whole car and not just the door. Would had regret it later.
I have seen on UTube how these paintless dent remover people have worked on door damages like yours. The final result/s are amazing.

Quick pic of my car sitting outside the shop makin a lil Ferrari, Lexus, Challenger sandwich
I had to sand out some spider cracks in the rear bumper from the previous owner
primering the rear bumper and all the rock chips in the hood. i sanded out all the chips instead of just filling them with primer or putty. If you dont sand them out, you risk the chance of having them come back when you bake the car in the spray booth or it sitting in the sun. All the material(primer, paint, and clear) just gets shrunk down into the chips.

What semi gloss clear are going to use? Sometimes with ours it seems like the gloss level can be a little hit or miss. The thought of doing a whole paint job with it would scare the hell out of me, not to mention possibly having to respray a panel on it at a later date. Looking forward to more pics.
