Default HID Ballast OEM Not Working

My driver side HID Ballast OEM has not been working for a while now, but I finally got time to try out some things.

Problem: The light turns on for a couple seconds and then goes out. If I keep on turning the lights on and off, the bulb will stay on for about 3-5 minutes before going out again and then I can turn the lights on and off again and it will stay on again for about 3-5 minutes.

Things that I have tried.
1) Changed out the bulb. Same issue.
2) Just today, tried another ballast and bulb. Same issue.
3) Only thing that I have not done is remove my passenger headlight and connect it to my driver side and see what happens. I will probably be doing that tomorrow.

I am at the point that if I don't fix it, I am going to throw the light off my balcony.

Any help from any master tech's is appreciated.

Any relays that I can check, or grounding points that I might be missing.

In addition, I have searched all the threads here and none have been able to help me out as of yet.

No longer under warranty.

How do you figure its my headlight? I tried a different ballast and bulb already. A new headlight won't do me any good, but maybe after tomorrow if I am end up breaking the **** out of frustration, I'll shoot you a PM.

I pretty much had the same problem. After ordering an oem ballast from ebay and installing it, my headlight now works flawlessly!

Was there any condensation or water issues? if so you will have to remove the headlight housing and bake it and redo the wiring in the section underneath. modsexpress has a kit for like $16 to replace the wiring i think.....

^ it went out because of condensation. The wires were fine and no, you don't need to bake ur light

Figured it out. It was my ballast and my bulb. Had to bake my headlights to remove the old ballast. What a mission! Thank god its over.

I had the same issue it was my BULB. Replaced them with some aftermarket ones 6k (no name $60 bucks) and everything works fine now.

Im actually having a similar problem but reversed. My drivers light wont initially turn on but if I turn it on and off again it ignites. Does that mean I have to get a new ballast too?

Resurrecting an old thread but does anyone have part info on the OEM ballast? I have a 2007 IS350 and my passenger side ballast is out. I've been looking for info but can't seem to find any.
