Default IS250 6 sp or IS350

Just curious on what you guys would do. Would you guys rather have a IS250 6

speed or a IS350?

And for the guys with the 6 speed 250's, is it really worth putting the power and speed aside for the 6 speed that i've read on these forums are no good from Lexus?

And as for the 350 owners, Do you guys regret buying an automatic?

My 6 speed manual is a bit rare, but lacks the power of the 350. I went into it knowing I wasn't going to race this car.I would have bought an EVO if I wanted that! This is a luxury car, not a race car. I probably would rather have a 350 for speed, but am happy I don't cause I'd have tickets. Not sure if the gas mileage is that much better. My Civic with it's short shifter shifts WAY quicker than my IS with it's short shifter. I do love my "Black Princess" though.

Id say go 350. I drove a 250 a couple times as a loaner. I was surprised at how slow the car was. I punched it to try to merge, needless to say i ended up pulling over on the side because i was not expecting such slow acceleration. The Manual IS250 trannys from a toyota truck, its not the best, but if you like driving stick and dont mind the lack of power, go for the 250

For me it's worth it...I just can't enjoy a car that isn't manual. It's sad how manual are becoming rare, especially high end sports cars. Also Is350 are just rev limiters even worse.

Driving stick is awesome. I highly recommend it. Notice how the one's saying 350 haven't even tried driving the 250 with stick.

I have had two manual cars and making the switch to my 350 was not bad at all. The power it puts down is ok. But it would be ideal if it was a manual.

Nope, no regrets whatsover. It's so much easier to text and drive with an auto. j/k, kind of.

manual 250 IMO
i regret getting a auto IS250 (well there were no IS350's in australia anyway, so IS350's were out of the question)
getting into my friends manual cars just makes the driving feel better, feel more connected to the car

I drove the IS250 A/T (RWD and AWD), the IS350 and IS-F and ultimately decided on the IS250 M/T.

I can't give up my M/T. It gives me great pleasure to drive, every day.

I just switched car with my friend who drives a 335i for awhile today. I love everything about his car except for one thing, the automatic. Even with the twin turbo that it has under the bonnet and the signature bmw driving feel, I would still pick my stick shift 250 over his 335i. A stick shift is just so much more fun to drive if you enjoy driving stick, even with the gearbox from a truck. I felt much more control and connected to the car driving the 6spd 250. So for me, 6spd 250 over an auto 350. Or a 6spd 335i or even a 328i.
