Default IS-F Grill (replica)

Hey guys:

I just installed my IS-F (replica) grille from Ebay. The fit is perfect and install took about 10 mins. And...you DO NOT have to remove the chrome surround to install! Once I removed the clips and 10mm screw from the top, I pulled off the weatherstripping that wasn't attached to the grille. There are 2 little pins on each side that come out. They came off easy. If they pull out of the weatherstripping, they go right back in with no problem. I then reached down and pushed the tabs that are on the side and bottom of the OEM insert. Once the tabs were loose, I just pushed the insert in toward the radiator and it came out. I then placed the new grille insert into the chrome surround from the back side and it snapped into place. There is no need what so ever to pull the chrome surround out unless your replacing the whole thing. I used a wide blade putty knife to pull the "L" from the OEM grille and then used 3M two-sided tape to reattach to the new grill. Very easy guys...

I have the non f sport '11. When I spoke to Sewell about if the Fsport grille was an easy swap for the non F's they told me it wasnt and that i needed to change the entire front end to the Fsport they have on their site (~$1500). Of course I passed and purchased the Fsport insert form Lextuners and it fits like a glove.

Looks good. Glad you got it!

I was worried when I got mine about fitment, hopefully you weren't since I got all the worrying done!

Doug:

Thanks...but it's "Paul" not Dave I think people read my screen name wrong.

Can't believe how easy the install was. I think putting the 3M tape on the "L" took the longest...

I also just purchased a IS-F steering wheel and will purchase a steering damper and few other goodies from Sewell once I receive my $500 recall bonus card. I also have a set of F-Sport front & rear sways to install.

Nothin' betta than gettin' "F-ed"

Absolutely! Sorry about the name. Lack of sleep here with the baby.

My Steering Damper actually made a big difference! I haven't added the front sway yet, but is on my short list. headers may be first though!

The grille looks great. I am glad I took the 200 risk because it makes the car.

So, the big question....in terms of quality...could you take it to a dealer and them look at it and think it's OEM? Also, would you buy it again if you had to?

The 2011 grille inserts are interchangeable as well as the grille surrounds. The F-Sport surround is more of a black pearl finish as opposed to the stock chrome. The F-Sport insert is the unmistakable zigzag pattern that offers a unique look over stock. It's just $140 for this simple upgrade.

Does anyone know if you can get the bottom 'zig zag' f-sport / isf mesh to fit an 06 - 08 IS?

Yup, at least for the LexTuners grille. It came in an OEM Toyota box, dealership put it in no questions asked. Very pleased with the look/fitment, would recommend it highly. Will post pics later. 2011 250 btw.

Just so there's no confusion, people should know that what's being referred to as the "Lextuners grille" IS the actual OEM Lexus grille from the 2011 F-Sport.

Sorry for the confusion, was trying to let people know whom I bought it from. Absolutely an OEM part, dealer thought I bought it from them. Here are a couple pics of a 2011 with it installed.
