Angry Rubbed a Hole in my Fender Liner - Big Problem?

After weeks of rubbing, I finally took off my wheels the other day (to paint my calipers) and saw the damage. I was expecting to find evidence of rubbing, but not a fricken' hole in both the driver and passenger side fender liner. I noticed that there is a sharp metal edge behind liner on both sides that I think hits my tires on bad dips. I'm running 8.5x19+35 (235/35/19) in front and 9.5x19+35 (265/30/19) in the back.

Pictures below. Any suggestions? How do people get away with having lower offsets and being even slammed more than me? Or maybe this is just the price you pay to look good.

Are you on coils or springs. I rubbed all the time and my fender liner is worst than yours.

Dude just leave it. This is TOO common with the IS. Nothing to worry about.

you'll kick up water when it rains and put the water behind the liner where the fog lites and other wires are~ so... get a heat gun to push it out of the way, put some silicone or at the very least duct tape...

+1, definitely not low enough if you don't have that.

OP - How thick is that part of the fender liner do you know? Mine shows signs of rubbing too but not too bad yet. How low are you?

Good to know that I'm not the only one. Maybe it's my imagination but it seems like I'm always hearing people saying 8.5+35 up front is conservative and there's no rubbing. I guess those that don't rub aren't low enough.

Should I just sand/dremel it down, or try and bend it?

That's what I'm worried about. No more driving in the rain for me!

Pretty thin. 2-3 millimeters maybe? I'm slightly tucking tire.
