Advan (Yokohama) Wheel Owners - Post Your Setup
I did a search and didn't find one, so i thought i'd start one
If you've got an Advan or Yokohama wheel setup and would like to share it....post here!
I personally think they are the ultimate wheel when you take looks, weight and quality into consideration. Their Advan Racing series (RS, RZ, RG, RS-D etc) are particularly well regarded here in asia where i live
I went with the fairly newly released Advan RS-Ds in the premium bright chrome finish...i love how they reflect light especially when in motion
My wheel specs are:
19 x 8.5 + 38 for the front on 225/35/19 tyres (45mm lip)
19 x 9 + 25 for the rear on 255/35/19 tyres (64mm lip - about 3 inches)
There is a mild stretch on the tyres and the rear is almost absolutely flush. Fender mods were required (i am dropped on coils) and it still rubs a little but i dont care....i like the stance too much. The front is slightly recessed in the fender but sizing options are limited unless i want to run a 9 inch front (which i don't...cos that would require me to go with a 10 inch wheel on the back and suitable tyres will introduce too much rolling resistance)
Here are pics of my setup:
Some close ups:
A pic of their weight (RS-D 19 x 9)
If you've got an advan setup..do post it, would love to see it...Include your specs!

Thanks...i had considered the black spoke version...but IMO they get a little 2 dimensional when seen in real life because they're black and thus you can't appreciate the little details as well. But its just MHO...i still think the black spoke design would rock on a darker coloured IS250 though. The chrome finish looks even better in real world lighting conditions, however i blame my lack of photographic ability for not being able to show it in my pictures...LOL

If you were prepared to roll your fender you could probably avoid rub. But the way i am now, i do rub a little. I have minor fender mods: the fender was heatgunned and pushed back by hand without rolling which reduced the rubbing tremendously but there is still a little. i hesitate to roll as i dont want to ruin the paint on the rear quarter panel.

The RS model weighs about the same as the RS-Ds. All the Advan Racing series wheels have similar weights, in fact

Those model 5s are hot, when i first went wheel shopping these were on the top of my list...advan has a pic of a ferrari with these wheels and it looked crazy nice. The AVS range are some pretty VIP status stuff from Yoko...show us some hi-res shots!
