Question GFX tips install...... pls help

Im not retarded but since im new and dont want to mess anything up... i got a pair of GFX exhaust tips... i guess their what just shinier than the stock? (is250 AWD)

how do i take stock off and put these on? Just unscrew a screw and pull/twist them off?

then put new one in and screw it..? also they are at an angle... the open face goes toward the outside? Can i put it toward inside? DOes it matter?

any help is appreciated... DONT FLAME FOR EZ LEVEL NOOB QUESTION!! thanks!

Twist with your hands, I forgot which direction though but if you go onto Sewell site and look for the rear GFX lip there's instructions that you can download and it will tell you how to take off the tips.

There aren't any screws, just twist with your hands....need to put some muscle into it

To take off, there is no screw you just more or less pull & twist off. Mine were pretty jammed in there. however, if you look under the tip, there is a small slot, you can use a screw driver to wedge in that part and lever against the muffler (tap the screw driver with a mallet) and it should slowly pop out. Once a little loose u can pull & twist off.

As far as the orientation of the tip, its all up to you, it shouldnt matter. I'd be curious to see what the GFX tips look like on a non-GFX rear.

What I did was grab on to it with both hands and rocked my body side to side with both my feet on the actual exhaust until it came loose, I personally couldn't twist it for the life of me. Then I bought a rubber mallet from the 99 cent store and banged the hell out of the new tips until they fit the way I liked it.

Two hands and pull hard...

Yes, there is a Left & Right.. They will look silly if you installed them the wrong way..

Here is a pic.. photo credit goes to "TAMR_GUS98"

ok got it done, my stock came off so easy, i kinda helped them with a knife, but they came off going side to side easily... couldnt twist them at all..

look new ones!!! LOOKS MUCH BETTER than STOCK IMO!
LEFT NEW RIGHT OLD

LEFT NEW RIGHT OLD

LEFT NEW RIGHT OLD
unfortunately i dont have many before shots...

the new ones stick out more and just look flashier. It looks nicer this way because they are shinier and really make the wheels and window trim look good..

not bad with no GFX kit

If you'll notice in the pic of the OEM and GFX tips sitting on the table, the GFX tips have their angle cut differently. The GFX one's tip angle points towards the side and the OEM one points down. You can easily tell in that picture because they all have the seam on the bottom of it.

The GFX tips are definitely longer than the OEM ones, but that's because the body kit kind of makes the OEM tips look like they're tucked into the kit. I have a Tanabe exhaust on my car and the tips used to stick out, now they don't.
