Smile Convert '06 trunk/gas buttons to '07 buttons with light...

I just completed the above hack, the part numbers required are Base Switch Holder #55447-53040-CO and Switch Assy, Luggage #84840-33080, cost $70.00. First thing to do is remove the panel fuse located on the drivers side under the dash. 7.5amp, next remove the old switch using a wide thin tool to pry it out, once removed unplug the old unit and locate the green connector used for the rear shade screen, remove the white and green wires from the plug. Using a thin flat screw driver remove the top off of the white connector, remove the blue wire and place it to in the last slot, remove the red wire and place it next to the blue, do the same thing on the other side with the orange wire on the outside and the striped wire next to it, now place the green wire form the green connector next to the red wire and the white wire next to the green. Place new base and switch together and plug harness back into switch. Put fuse back and test lights and that both buttons operate. Your done, took about 20 minutes, below is a link with photos on install from a Japanese website, I did not have to remove the side panel or use additional wires. If you have a sun shade you will have to splice into the green and white wires from the Green connector.

Because the 2006 does not light up, hard to find in the dark and of course because it can be done after the dealer said it was not possible.

Anyone know if the part #s are the same for the US IS350s?

I like the 2007 switch and thats an easy mod.
