Default SRT Intake

Some members have said the SRT intake makes the F lose power.
Is this 100% true? Has anyone seen gains with this intake...

08 red IS-F
tint, SRT-intake, hid fogs, calibre k-40 radar

Everything I've ever read on here confirms what you have found. Some of the more experienced guys could provide more substantiated backup, but I believe the SRT (from what I've read) is not good with the F.

Most intakes on our cars provide only modest gains (5-7whp), so don't fret too much. However, you certainly don't want to lose any.

Some members here advise to stay away from the SRT intake. From what I remember the intake causes the car toloses HP or sets the CEL on.

I don't think Lexsane is the same guy we met at the mall, Teo. That guy has a 2010 red isf and SRT intake but a lot more mods.

SWAP.
Joe-Z intake is only $140 (well, was. not sure if price has changed), and takes less than 30 minutes to install. It may take longer if you need to re-install your stock airbox.

Why woudln't you want to go back to the stock air box? It's been proven to be better than the SRT intake. At this point going back to stock for you would be an improvement, consider it a mod.

Go with Joe-Z - no reason to keep the SRT and go slower

Going back stock as a mod

So Juan, if I tint my windows, then get a ticket and have to take the tint off, is that considered a mod as well?

Personally I went with the Joe Z tube and left the box stock. After doing research and reading members advice and suggestions that was the route I went with.
