Turning VSC Off (2 Different Ways/2 Different Results)
I realized through this discussion that pedal dance goes further to knock out LSD. I tried last night. While either method allows you to be a kid and burn up a parking lot, no LSD can bite you hard between 1st and 2nd. I think there's some drag videos out there where the car starts break dancing at about 100 ft.
This could be the reason why it doesn't work for me, I have the DVD hack as well.
Does not work for me. I suppose it's a possible consequence of having the DVD hack, which allows DVD video playback while the car is in motion. For that hack, one of the parking brake inputs on the back of the nav/entertainment console is grounded, to simulate that the car is not moving, thus permitting the video playback while driving. Maybe it's not seeing the parking brake 'release-apply-release-apply' dance.
^^^ Forget about that, it works with the DVD hack. I missed the part that you had to keep the brake pedal depressed, so I can confirmed that I messed it up the first time but the pedal dance works!
I played with this yesterday. Works as described in the first post. However I can't understand why anyone would want to run it entirely disabled (pedal dance) without a LSD. One wheeled (chicken scratch) burn outs are no fun and you can't get it to hook up out of a corner exit with out at least the electronic LSD. I guess for Dyno tuning it is good to disable everything, etc.
Poses a good option though for the track if you have a mechanical LSD installed at a later time.
Just a side note the electronic LSD function in this car is 10x's better than the system I had in my 2002 Carrera (Porsche Stability Management).

I got it to work as well, but sheesh...after I got LSD switched off, I could not get it to come back ON!!! I tried repeatedly shutting the car off and restarting, light always stayed on. After about 15-20 times the light finally did switch off, but I'm not sure why. Is there another pedal dance for getting the LSD to turn back on? Or did you have this problem?

Mine works fine, when I shut the car off and back on the light goes away.

Just took 2 quick videos to illustrate my point. In them I take the same 3 turns and halfway through the turn I apply full throttle to break traction.
Video 1: VSC/TRAC turned off Via Long Push
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnDE0c8axwA
-As you can see in all 3 turns the VSC/TRAC ICON DOES Flicker meaning VSC/TRAC is not fully disabled. This method can be found in the IS-F manual.
Video 2: VSC/TRAC turned off Pedal Sequence
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkbR13gEiyo
-In this video in all 3 turns the VSC/TRAC ICON DOES NOT Flicker meaning VSC/TRAC and most importantly "electronic lsd effect" are TURNED OFF. This method is nowhere in the manual.

Joe, I started the 'F' yesterday for 15 minutes since its in hibernation mode until march/april, and had trouble with the 'pedal dance'.
Here's what I did:
Started with emergency engaged and waited for the display to boot.
With the emergency still engaged Pumped the brake pedal 2X.
Pumped the emergency 2X. and left engaged.
Then finally the brake pedal again 2X.
Is this correct with the emergency brake or was the fact that the hood was open caused the failure?

funny how i see someone reposted this again, i remember i mentioned this before and the Mobs were not happy about me telling them holding down the button do not completely turn the Traction control off. They insisted holding down 3 secs will turn it completely off, and i had Angry mobs throwing their farming equipments at me.

)We know the truth now, but I'm having difficulty with the procedure if someone could explain in more detail the pedal positions and if the emerg pedal is left engaged or not before the brake pedal pump.
Cheers,
Colin
