Default Static noise using AUX input and 12V power outlet

I recently tried to use my ipod through AUX input. It work fine from battery but when I also connect it to the 12V power outlet, it makes static noise in the speakers. Apparently there is 06-07 ISx50 TSIB regarding this issue and the fix is to install filter to the line input. Wondering is anybody else has this problem in IS-F.

the alternator of the car generates a lot of nasty electrical noise, it isnt clean. You have to buy a group loop isolator its a pretty common electronic accessory for running something like an ipod in a car

Just unplug the charger or get a ground loop isolator.

Just got ground loop isolator from Radio Shack ($16). It seems to fix the problem.

sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but i just had the TSB done to my 08 ISF... at first, tech guy told me to get a shielded aux cable and for it to be as short as possible... i didn't want to buy another cable or the somewhat bulky ground loop isolator that'll take up the small space already in our center console...

so i printed out the TSB from the IS thread and showed it to them and they ok'd it... as long as you are still under warranty and you don't mind waiting until they get the part, then i'd say do it... it works on our cars too even though the TSB doesn't specifically apply it to our cars...

Sewell lexus of fort worth is where i did it... no hassle with them when i showed it to them after the 1st visit...

I have an appointment at 10AM with my SA. He says they can do the work, they just have to visually look and verify that the F is the same as the rest of the IS line.

I've been using a ground loop isolator to help with this problem in my Prius, but it seems to be coming back again after a few years. Today as an experiment I plugged my phone into one of those portable batteries for charging on the go and had that battery plugged into the outlet and no more annoying noise at all! I may just keep it this way as it's never sounded so good. I guess the battery acts as a filter on the power supply vs having to try and filter the aux line with one of those ground loop isolators.

there was a TSIB for this on the LS460. If its common I wonder if they will do something. I just stream my music but used to use my iPod and didn't have this issue. Is this isolated to the 08-09 ?? 2010 got a change in the system I think.
