I just purchased a 2008 ISF. I love this car! 57K miles, garage kept!
I'm thinking of chipping. I'm sure there are others in this forum who have done this. I'm looking for advice on what unit to purchase. I'm willing to spend around $400.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
If you're only willing to spend $400 on a tune, you're in for a world of disappointment. The cheapest tune is $700ish and you can either do RR Racing, or wait for Sector7 and OVTuning, and you won't see massive results as with an FI car, at most maybe 10-15whp. Better off with a catback that deletes the secondaries and ups the flow while offering better sound.
I understand the want to modify. and i understand working on a budget. hell it took me months to save for the headers/tune/intake./ and a year to actually do the work. so trust me i know.
i would just say hold off till your budget grows and just enjoy the car. drive it and enjoy it till then.

I went from bone stock to FBO with tune a month after owning the car and all I can say was it felt unreal! The transformation is so drastic and wild it made me fall deeper in love with the car. The car is very capable and will surprise you with how much power it gains. Was worth every penny to me. Only issue I come across is if your in a state with 91 you will need an octane booster or race gas to get everything out of the tune. When I run just 91 my car pulls timing hard and you can feel it.

Agree that's why I've been running an E85 blend for over 4 years now
I blend as well currently with the RR tune. I have a very high timing table below 3k. Above it is middle ground, but that may be my own fault since I rarely drive it hard at top speed. The tune seems to like E30 a lot.

For you all running e30 with high timing tables, is it best to reset the Ecu and then go do some interstate pulls while it is learning? I have recently done some interstate pulls, but my tune learned a while ago, and I can’t seem to get the high timing table to budge. It’s stuck around 20.6. I’m curious if a reset is worthwhile?
