I want more power, but I don't want more noise

I didn't do any calculations. I just asked the guy to install the longest possible. I believe 2" diameter is what will fit in that area. There are formulas online you can use to calculate the length you need. If your exhaust shop is willing, you can ask them to make a temporary adjustable length one. Make adjustments until you hit the sweet spot, but as you can imagine this will take time. I don't know about the Borla exhaust, however I would imagine it should apply. The Joe Z drones right below 2k RPM. I wish someone with the technical know-how can figure out the exact length and diameter.
Yeah, I have some droning around 1800 ==> 2000 RPM.
I see the formula online, someone needs to calculate it out, I cannot, hahaha.

I get asked this quite frequently. Most of the ISF owners are in their late 30's+ and don't need to relive their high school memories of having a mullet with an IROC rolling up to the ice cream parlor.
With that being said, PPE headers with a stock exhaust is going to be your best route. 1 in terms of power and 2 you're only removing the primary cats which still leaves cats + mufflers to tone down the exhaust note. You'll be more than content with how it sounds, slightly deeper but still muffled, along with the power gains from the headers. I mean you match that with a tune you'll have a whole new car'ish. In retrospect a catback is minimal gains compared to headers.
