Should I buy this 2011 ISF?
Hello everyone!
I am considering getting this 2011 ISF and would love to get some input from you guys! I've been doing research for the past couple months for a clean, post-refresh ISF and according to my findings (limited to say the least lol) this seems like a good one to get. I live in California and most of the ISFs I found near me were pre-refresh 2008-2010 models, which I wouldn't really consider clean. The ones I did find in very good condition were really over priced (a good couple grand over blue book value). I've found some good 2011+ examples out there but they are too far from me. The best part about this deal is that the will deliver to me free of charge. I've looked through the CARFAX for this car and it seems like the previous owner used it as a weekend car and all the maintenance were done on time as well. What do you guys think? Should I pull the trigger?

P.S. I've test driven the 2008 ISF and the ride was harsh but not unforgiving. Maybe my perspective is biased since I'm coming from a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST, which rides REALLY harsh, but since I plan on keeping this car for a long time I want to have the best possible ride. ALSO, this is my first post on here so please excuse any newbie tendencies

Welcome. It sounds like you know what you want. That is a very clean 1 owner example. Clean examples like this one do come up here and there however they do go quickly. It appears this one is already being spoken for by someone. The advice I would give you would be not to settle for something you do not want and be patient. As soon as you settle that clean example you were actually looking for will come up for sale and you will regret your purchase. When the right car for you comes up you cannot hesitate but again make sure it has everything you are looking for (year, color, mileage, interior color). Other factors that may be important could be maintenance history, number of owners, clean title. Many people on here ask "Should I buy this car?". It is really subjective. Buy the car that you feel is right for you in your opinion. In the end it is about your happiness and that is what should matter.

Blue book means nothing for most enthusiast cars, especially limited numbers cars like the ISF. Book value for one of my past Miatas was $900 yet I sold it for $6k. Same goes for a few others I’ve owned, most recently a 6 speed G37 sedan. Book value in 2016, $17k, sold for $18k plus buyer paid $4k extra for the mods on the car.
Like you said, your findings have been limited so as long as the car is clean, well maintained, and you like the color/options/etc go for it. Personally I’ve not dealt with carvana, but as I understand they deliver the car to you. Unless it comes with a warranty of some sort I would absolutely want to check over the car myself before purchase. The main high dollar things to look for on these cars are valley plate leak, cracked headers, and general used car things. Took the dealer 3x in my case to find a valley plate leak, so I’m not certain a PPI would even find it.

When you find a nice one, don’t post it here unless you have hold money on it. Our members will buy it out from under you, as well everyone else.

Can't sell for a friend on CL, and your friend can put it in the classifieds with only one post (the ad for it) on Club Lexus because it is a Lexus for sale. Please, no selling in the main forums.
