Default IS-F gets louder as oil mileage gets longer

I've noticed this, now even non car people have commented that about my car. Anyone else notice this? Currently at 7200 miles on the mobile 1 syn. Maybe Im crazy and its just an exhaust leak?

Yeah I’d never let a car go over 5k, so can’t relate. If that’s really the issue, change your oil sooner.

I've gone 12k on a change. Fully documented with used oil analysis in the Blackstone thread and photo evidence in the valve lash thread. Never an issue regardless of mileage.

what oil and weight? Do you drive year around? I have to top up half a quart to 1 quart every 3k miles.

Mobil 1 5w-30 or Mobil 1 0w-30. I never have needed to add oil even on the extended changes. Sounds like your rings didn't get fully broken in if you're burning that much oil.

I found the 0w-30 makes a whole lot less of the weird ticking noise on start up than 5w-30 does.

I'm just about to change the oil in my IS-F. 10k miles. Amsoil Signature.

Oil will be sent out for analysis.

No, and I think it's a bad idea to believe the engineers designing the oil package failed to get it right so it needs some kind of additive. If you're really concerned about it, run either Amsoil Signature Series 5w-30 or Renewable Lubricants PCMO 5w-30. There are no better oils with or without additives available.
