I've used the 2 step kit in the link below just this weekend and it worked great. I was shocked:

This is what kills me about these kits, they never can really protect it, and completely stop the yellowing.
once you strip the remainder of clear off the headlights .. they'll be clear for some weeks, but since they have no clear coat on them left they will still go and yellow out.no matter how much "sealant" you spray.
clear-coat is mostly polyurethane... this is why most people place a paint protection film over top of their headlights.
my moms Camry has had ppf since new in 09' and her headlights are still crystal clear. .... we replaced the ppf on it last year and the whole headlight still fills new underneath with no discoloration.
i'd highly suggest you guys get some PPF if your going to get your headlights crystal clear again.
I'd recommend 3M scotch guard pro (10mil) *pro is the most flex able for an install, followed by a pre cut kit from XPEL *the thickest @ 30mil"
prices aren't bad at all, and 3m is a 10yr warranty, rolls are available via amazon.
Xpel kits are avalible via their website .. i think the ISF kit is like 69$ for the headlights

i typically do 4 different grits 1k 3k 5k and 8k, clean, uv protective clear coats, 2 to 3 coats, cure for a week with good weather (CA ftw) then I sand lightly with 10k and finish with a polish and clear film. 3 yrs since I did it to my moms accord and holding strong...
but then again i probably overkilled lol

Your statement is almost completely wrong. My car is the car that is in the video. My headlights have looked amazing (for 10 year old headlights) for almost 5 months now. It is however, only suppose to last around a year. Then you just clean it up, coat it again. $30 bucks and an hour of work is still cheaper than $1700 for new OE factory head lamp housing.
you literally polish the headlights nice 1 time, put the film on and no worries for almost a decade. *haven't waited the 10 stated years... got to year 9 and just redid it... old film still looked good from what i could tell*
Nobody said anything about buying new headlamps, and the roll of film is about 30$ bucks ... install time was about an hour....and our Camry is almost on year 10 with headlights that look brand new, no yellowing or cloudiness whatsoever.
and as for the science, the clearcoat *also the ppf* is just polyurethane with hardner and some uv protection mixed in, its littery what's on the outside of your polycarbonate headlights, and car paint.
heres a link to the spi painters forum discussing which clears to spray on headlights ... with pics http://www.spiuserforum.com/index.ph...adlights.3688/

I installed 3M protective tape on the headlights and it worked great.
Took it off to see how the headlights were 4 years later and they look brand new.

Honestly, I've given up on the kits. I've tried just about every variation of Meguairs kits, and while they come out nice, they just don't last since you've essentially stripped away the clear coating on the headlights and it's only a matter of time before they yellow again. Even PPFs aren't entirely without their faults, many of the cheaper ones don't have any UV protection.
I ended up just paying some local car guy to sand them down with varying grits and apply 2-3 coats of uv-resistant clear coat. Turned out great for $50.
