Anyone thought about model s or model3?
No, but never turning a profit and bleeding money is more than enough to tank a company.
Despite what St. Musk is saying, Tesla WILL need another capital raise, and with him being under federal investigation/lawsuit, the chances of securing that capital are very slim.
Best case scenario for Tesla to thrive is to get rid of Musk as CEO for someone who actually knows the car business.

A long list of executives and high-profile employees have left Tesla in recent weeks. Tesla's chief accounting officer Dave Morton left the company in early September after just several weeks on the job. The company's engineering chief Doug Field left in July after taking a leave of absence. Prior to McAnear's announcement, short seller and Tesla critic Jim Chanos had listed 41 executives that have left Tesla in 2018, including human resources chief Gaby Toledano, and vice president of communications Sarah O'Brien.
That and the fact that every company that knows how to manufacture and sell cars is going to be making electric cars soon...Volkswagen is going huge into electric on the low end and Audi, Porsche at al will hit Tesla on the top end.

Sep 17, 2018 · DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund invested more than $1 billion Monday in a Silicon Valley electric car maker just weeks after Tesla CEO Elon Musk earlier claimed the kingdom would help his own firm go private.
Oh, and almost forgot that once they are out of warranty, Tesla doesn’t really want to fix their cars anymore and no one else knows how to. There’s customer service for you. And on and on and on. Tesla is a slow motion automotive train wreck happening right before our eyes.

I just came back from a ride on my friends newly delivered Model 3, it was my first time ever on a Tesla and my first impression was, Its a smart phone on wheels loaded with all kinds of features. After that i gave him a ride on my F and we had a discussion about both cars. Yes, the Tesla has an insane acceleration but to me it felt awkward, it was like in a blink of an eye we were at 60 mph but all i felt was being pushed to the seats whereas on my F, I dont just get pushed to the seat, there are other stimulating sensations like the V8 roar, the intake induction noise, the slight shift forward when shifting gears, something i did not feel of the Model 3. But, i did think the car was cool and i would definitely consider one for a daily, but i would not trade in my F for it for sure.
Do 0-100 ten times and then tell me what you think of Tesla's acceleration. I had a guy in a 90S want to play with my Supra on the freeway. It wasn't even close. The battery technology still has a long way to go. If Tesla's "free energy" every comes out from suppression, then electric cars with zero energy costs will rule the roads. Until then fossil fueled vehicles will still be the only platform meeting my immediate needs.
I don't commute. I either drive to the airport 45 minutes away with no traffic, or I drive a couple of hundred miles in a few hours, then turn around and drive home. An electric platform just can't do that yet. In time for sure, and when it does it will be great. I'm happy to let the early adopters pay for the R&D to get there.

Here is video of M3 competition package racing Model 3 it lost and I would still buy M3 over Model3. For me quarter mile is not the best and truest test of Ultimate speed. Half mile and full Mile are better measure of speed. Highways are where most real world encounters occurs. Take these ecars over half mile and look what happens they loose. But its more than just straight line speed. There's something visceral about the combustion motor and everything that goes along with it. The noise sound, vibration, smells all of these things come together to create experience and for me its the totality of all of these elements combined that make for great driving experience. I've driven in P100D in ludicrous mode it was very fast off the line instantaneous push me right back into my seat and that was about it. For some as commuter car the model 3 and others like it will work fine but for me i stick with old tech combustion engine or even a hybrid like the LaFerrari but pure electric I pass.
