Hello Ladies And Gents,

I'm obviously torn and asking for your assistance...
Please help me finalize my decision to either treat myself with a porsche 911 or a dodge viper gts ... regardless or irregardless of the year. This car will be saved for my 1 year old son.

If anything.... I think clublexus is such a perfect haven to ask such a question like this.
Thanks my fellow Lexus friends...

For me it is Porsche. Had a Cayenne Turbo S once. Liked it very much. And also think resale value.

If it's a 911 Turbo or a GT2.............then yes.

The last Viper is pretty good and you can add more power fairly quickly.

For a 911 get either a 991.1 GTS or GT3 in the special colors (PTS). If your into crackles GTS is the way to go, GT3 has no crackles but a smooth 9,000 rpm engine.

For a viper get a ACR-E.

Both are special, I like the 911 more personally due to its heritage and good enough for the canyon roads. Viper is very much a straight track car.

Depends on the years you’re looking at. The viper is definitely not just a straight line car and is an extremely capable car on the track. I think both will maintain resale value well, but that doesn’t seem to be a concern since you’re planning on handing it down. The 911 is definintely a better all around car, especially for daily driving, but the viper is more raw and doesn’t have a lot of the technology in drivers aides, but the newer ones will be more so than the first or second gen. If the car is a toy I’d probably go viper, you seem to get more for your money and they are more unique and garner more attention which just makes them feel more special to me. Can never fault a 911, it’s the Camry of sports car, does everything well, which is why they are in the position they are in and sell so many for such a long time.

Depends what you want to deal with in public. Not many people look twice at a porshe on the road, any model. EVERYONE looks twice at a viper.

I'd say Viper just because it's different and not the dime a dozen Porsche.

I agree. Especially now that the Viper is out of production. Porsche will keep selling 911’s or whatever numbers they want to use for ages.

For me the Viper is rarer, will likely appreciate more in value, and offers a wow factor you don’t get with a Porsche.

Ultimately I also agree with Kody though, you should follow your own heart and decide which one you want more.

Good luck, and whatever you decide, enjoy!

wow, first world dilemmas.

I'd get the 911, I would never consider a Chrysler product.

P car has to be a GT. Only ones that hold their value.

Viper still have the cabin temps from Hell issue?

Viper is not a great car for a young man. Very little drivers aides. If it isn’t piping hot inside, the ACR is way rarer. I’d prefer Porsche for practicality though.

If youre saving it for your 1 year old, your Porsche should be a GTx car or Turbo variant.
