What oil is everyone using for their ISF change?
#18
Another Mobil one user. Have 5 lexus's including an ISF and they all get the recommended weight Mobil One Full synthetic, and factory oem filters only. Have 400K on one and it doesn't burn a drop of oil and has had a hard life. I change every 3000Miles. I know its recommended to go longer, however the exhaust smells different and the car works just a smidge harder if if you extend the changes to recommended.

Mobil 1 and oem filter. Every 5000 miles on the 350 and 3000 miles on the F, but I really only put about 3-4K on the F a year I bet. I change it more often since I take it to the drag strip.

Formerly Mobil1 5w-30. Now 5W30 Renewable Lubricants, Bio-SynXtra, Super High Performance. It tests out almost as good as Amsoil Signature Series, better than Mobil 1 of any flavor, and is best at controlling fuel dilution which is a huge problem for the OEM tune on our engines. Mobil 1 EP gave me the worst wear numbers I have ever seen from a synthetic. I only ran it once. Lots more in these threads:

Finally, 540RAT's blog has a massive amount of useful information. I don't agree with him on everything, but I do agree with his oil load rankings and I agree an oil capable of supporting a higher load will provide more reliable protection than one only capable of supporting a lesser load.

They really shouldn't be telling you that. They don't have the equipment to accurately measure fuel dilution, and it's the biggest issue we have. Tribologik, Test Oil, and others with ISO certification will be able to accurately assess fuel dilution. I've used Blackstone quite a lot, but I also know the limitations of what they can tell me accurately. Fuel and water dilution are not in any realm of accuracy for them.
