Let’s talk about parking

I park as far away as needed to avoid idiots. Unfortunately doing so seems to attract that one melovelant *** hole who knows exactly why you parked there in the first place. Thankfully no dings after three years though and I think of it as a mini workout program where walking a mile to my destination doesn’t seem like a horrible trade off for getting a little more excersize. Even when parking so far away I still hug the curb to give as much room to Mr/Mrs melovelant douchebag as I can.

I hear what you are saying, but anything used is a crap shoot every time. Mystery issues because somebody modified something, or soldered on a wiring harness, or replaced an OEM part with some cheap aftermarket piece and now it just isn't the car it was when it rolled off the lot and you've got a mystery to solve.
I hate used cars. Owned more than a few. Won't do it again unless it's a project car.

Well all this whole thread tells me is that we don't own our cars.....they own us!!!!! I too park in the boonies and yet, some bozo manages to find my car with his shopping cart.

Fixed for accuracy.
Daily drive my beater lease. I only take the F out on weekends to places with a decent parking space. Everyone is right on giving up on caring though, you can't stop the inevitable, so might as well enjoy the car.

Ditto, We're probably on the lucky side of the spectrum

I hope we keep getting lucky, although I guess I spoke too soon, scuffed my front right wheel today. That must be what the soul leaving the body feels like.......

Wait until you scraped or cracked the front lip, replica or authentic. And no I haven't done it yet, but I'd imagine that's equally astral.

This thread about parking pretty much sums up how I park, haha. It actually bugs me that I won't allow myself to park between cars. This obsession with keeping the car pristine has gone so far that I bought a beater to drive last year. Now that I've been driving this '97 acura everywhere, I've only put 1500 kms (not miles) on the F this year. There comes a point when you start to think, am I even still enjoying the F? I love driving it, but I also love having it in showroom condition. I think we should all try and drive more, worry less, and not be like myself.

I drive it like I stole it everyday. If I wanted art, I'd buy art. I wanted a reliable and fast car to drive that occasionally looks really nice. To that end I had my wheels refinished this week, but the tiny chips in the front end make looking show quality a "never gonna happen" proposition for me.
