Can you look at my brakes
Does it look like I’m due for rotors and pads? They only squeal when stopping from slow speeds.https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...138abd86f.jpeghttps://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...25b3949c9.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...72386e25e.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...add5226cf.jpeg |
Your pads are fine because theyre not even down to the wear indicator. Hard to tell with the rotors. -R |
My brakes also make noise when coming to a stop. Seems to be a common ISF thing

Yep, brake squeal is common for the OEM pads on this car. I switched to the Bosch QuietCast pads as recommended by other users on the forum and they have been great so far... no squeal at all and I didn't notice any differences in street driving performance. They are relatively cheap too... unlike some of the other recommended options.

Rotors are getting thin. If it were mine, I run it until the pads are touching the lip at the top, then replace both rotors and pads. If you think they're squeaky now, just wait until the backing plate starts touching the outer lip on the disc - AMHIK!
Oh, yes, I have run rotors well below "minimum" thickness without fear. There is a very large safety margin in braking systems. |

I bet he is basing it on the lip overhang at edge of rotor...I think that shows the original thickness before pads wore it away.
