Higher mileage oils usually just have additives for seal swell, to leaking from worn seals. So if you concern is oil leaks , this might help.

A former visitor here, Code58, reported excellent results using Auto RX to stop rear main seal leak. He was, IMO, the most knowledgeable person who ever posted on an auto DIY site. The only other person who comes close is Trav over on BITOG.

Adding seal swell is never my first choice. If the seal is old, hard, and brittle something like this will breathe a little more life into it, but it won't be for a long time. If you're deciding between funding gas in your car and fixing an oil leak and not being able to drive, sure, throw something in the oil, but otherwise, adding anything to a modern oil is a total crapshoot and I wouldn't risk it.
