Default 2009 Need to soften ride

If this is covered elsewhere I apologize. There is lots to like about my 09 but the ride is harsh and it will not go on the track. Looking for recommendations to soften the ride (if lowered that's ok too) Is the fix just new springs or struts or ? What do you recommend? Thanks

KWv3 are really nice but also are a little higher on the price spectrum but if money is no object then these are a great option. Another route to look would be BC Coilovers with Swift Spring upgrades. Rates 14/10 have been recommended for comfort and people have commented on them seemingly riding like on a cloud in comparison to the 08/09 stock suspension. For a little more spirited driving people recommend 16/12 and still express how comfortable these are.

I have BC Racing with Swift 14/10. It is comfier for sure, while retaining the option for stiffer setting if you like for a track day. I would recommend 16/12 if you would like to go a bit lower than me(I'm about an inch). With 14/10 it tends to have just a bit more travel and thus rubbing on deep dips if you're low. I think my set was about $1200.

I'm running the 16k/12 swift springs on my BC Coilovers. Full ride height and dampening adjustable.... went with Figs recommended settings for daily driving and it was night and day different in comparison to the 08-09 OEM suspension... and I'm sitting pretty low (not tucking tire, but no wheel gaps all around).

There is no need to go with any of the above coil-over systems and the complexity of setting them, balancing them, adjusting them and regular maintenance.
Just replace the factory shocks with Bilstein B6's and be done with it. Simple installation, lifetime warranty. Done.

Here: $668.38 and free shipping. Done.

I’ve put Bilsteins on 3 other cars and have always been very satisfied with the results. I have not on the ISF yet as I only have 75k miles on it and drive it only when the weather is nice, etc.
there are at least 2 threads in the Bilsteins on here so do a search for more impressions.

Also, I've a lightly used set of BC's for sale if you're interested. Found my dream set of used Penskes for track use so never got to install them.

Basically any coilover will ride a tad nicer than stock just on the fact they are dampened better for the weight. Just a matter of how much you want to spend really.

I have the Greddy x KW coilover for the ISF with 15k/10k spring rates and I love them. I almost went 16k/12k BC with swift springs but the price was just right so I couldn't pass them up

On 09 ISF just replacing shocks with Blistien B6 won't necessarily drastically improve the ride quality. Will there be some Improvement, yes but it still doesn't address the other suspension changes that we're done to 2011+ models. I installed Bilstien B6 shocks with swift springs and Superpro urethane bushings front and rear, I had previously installed RRR USRS over year ago. Now with the Swift Springs turn in was fantastic the car drove fantastic on perfectly smooth roads but when you hit bad roads that had potholes, patch potholes, Expansion Joints etc, my ISF road very hard over these surfaces.

Now some of that had to do with increase NVH of the urethane bushings. So I switch back to OEM Springs this improved the ride quality. I did notice once I had OEM springs back on when driving on smooth roads with no broken surfaces, but if road had undulating or crowned surface etc it gave pogo stick like ride. Now fast forward 2 months the suspension has settled down it's no longer exhibiting that Pogo like ride over undulating road surfaces and it's ride quality has improved.

The bushings aren't squeaking and squealing like they were when I first install them and that's in 20 degree weather no noise so it seems like the bushing and shocks are settling in. Personally if I have to do it again I would go with another set of OEM shocks. If you wanted to go with shocks he would be better off with a 2011 or later shocks Springs and hats the problem with that is it will put them at the price of a set of BC's with swift Springs. But he would not have to worry about rebuilding coilovers every 2 to 3 years especially if he's not concerned about lowering the car or tracking his car.

I may switch to a set of figs 80 durometer LCA's and try swift springs one more time in springs. Or either get KWv3 or RR Racing coilovers.
