Having the finned case is one clue but I don't know enough about IS-F to say LSD or open. Anyone?

The pinion gear shaft is a dead giveaway.

While we are on this topic, anyone have a decoder for the diff tag having 3 characters?

Google turns up zip for 95% of the ones past 2006.
Mine is 2013 (2012-11 prod date) IS-350 F-Sport
Case label: 327
Gears are 4.083:1, open diff

A/TM: B06A/A760E
MODEL: GSE21L-AETLHA

It looks like some of the IS-F are:
48J open diff
58J LSD. ??

I found building my FD21A, rather than purchasing a salvage unit from a lying salvage yard was way more efficient and non-stressful....Pict up all my NEW OEM parts from JAPAN for only 25% more than most GREEDY salvage yards...& I know the parts are correct and serviceable!

Seeings the 4.08 gear never came with OEM LSD there are few options as all new is crazy expensive with little return on investment.

Yes, the finned housing would be great but now setup goes into no-mans land as the end user needs an elaborate shim kit to dial in proper fitment of the gear set...

I'm currently seeking a used housing with 4.08 gears to add an LSD too. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/2ge...-lsd-swap.html

Unless you are planning to drag race only, those gears won't get you much. I dug deep into this and the only thing you get is off the line snap because we have reasonably close ratios and lots of gears. If we had a 3 or 4 speed, sure, there would be some pretty significant assistance, but with 6 gears at 1:1 or lower, there isn't a whole lot to be gained with a 4:08 rear gear in an IS F except off the line iff you have a whole lot of tire.
