For a little work, this IS-F worth it?
I'm looking at a 2008 IS-F in Ultrasonic Blue, has 36k miles and in showcar condition. Guy is asking 35k, because he has a Airrex/Accuair E-level setup and Work Zwest ST1's on the car. The air setup has less than 300 miles on them, and the guy has the stock suspension as well. Is it reasonable to think I can sell the air setup and rims to bring me closer to 30k, which is a little more reasonable for a IS-F of that mileage and condition in my area?

My opinion is that if you don't want or need the air suspension setup, no need in paying extra for it on the car. For $35k, you can get LOW mileage '10/'11 Fs and even '12s in good condition with slightly higher mileage, of course, if you can find them in the color combo you want.
Unless you're out of options and that's the color you want, condition and mileage you want, I personally would walk on that one.

Realizing that the selection of Isfs in your location is likely far more limited than for those on the mainland, I'd have to say it's up to you about how you feel about the mods made to the car. And be honest with yourself about why it's being sold with just 300 mi. on the bags.

In my opinion, the seller is asking way too high. Yes he put in work to get quality parts, but aftermarket parts should not be reflected in the asking price. To say you'll recoup $6k from the air ride and wheels isn't a bad way to go, but say they don't get sold for the $6k or so you want to bring the value of the car to its market value- what would be next? In the end, the car being sold, even with aftermarket and some factory parts, will be accepted for what the buyer will pay for it regardless of year or mileage. My suggestion- if you're looking for a stock vehicle for $30k, try a MY09-11 with slightly higher mileage so you don't need to deal with trying to maximize the sales of those parts from the F you were looking into.
Best of luck to you, my friend. A little more searching might yield better examples, so do keep a look out.

You can probably get 6 grand for the wheels and air set up if you sit and wait for someone to buy them and you’ll be waiting a while at that price ...realistically you can get maybe 4 grand for the set up if you find the right person ...remember used is used doesn’t matter if it has 1 mile or 30k miles

You could also tell the guy you would be interested if he puts it back on stock suspension (and stock wheels if he has em) and lower the price 5000. Never know, maybe he'd do it.
