Default Anyone also have a LX570 or Land Cruiser?

Last year I moved to a cold climate and I’m really not liking only having a few months a year where I can drive my car and then when I do there are no twisty roads or mountains to run up and down. (Move from SF Bay Area, Ca to ChicagoLand, IL).

Im considering selling the ISF and moving over to a LX570 or Toyota Land Cruiser.

Anyone here have experience with either one? It’s been a good 9 year run with my ISF but it might be time to say goodbye.

I also have a 2013 lx570. It's a very capable suv. It's also very heavy and gets worse mileage than the isf.

Not sure what park of chicagoland you are from but if you are up for driving to some twisties it can be done. Let me state that you are not going to find any like you had in NCal!! Most people head to the Galena area out west or southwest wisconsin. Also i DD my isf cause i have 18" rims and snow tires but the winters here haven't been bad the past few years. Of course now that i say that it will dump this year.

I live in Barrington and work in Lake Forest. I’d love to know where some. Good roads are. I certainly was spoiled growing up in N Cal, literally living on Hwy 9 and learning to drive in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It’s SO flat here! I have a 2004 Volvo XC70 that I daily and Use in winter but it’s starting to require a lot of work. I’ve dumped more that it is worth into it in the last 2 years. Ugh!

i just checked, I’m 140mi from Galena... bummmer.

My wife drives a 2011 LX570...I honestly think it’s one of the best vehicles you can buy. We have three kids, so the size along with the air suspension and safety features make it a no brainer.

We don’t plan on selling ours anytime soon... we’ve owned it for about 3.5 years and have put 50,000 miles on it and it’s been a rock solid vehicle. It only has 80k on it now and I’d like to put another 100k on it before my oldest drives it.

If we ever get something else I’d probably look for a low mileage 2014 because I hate the new body style.

I have a FJ trail teams for my winter vehicle and I don’t see me ever letting that go either.

I live in Lake Zurich, work in Chicago, & store the F in the winter to avoid salt.
We had actual snow accumulation today in the city. I'm talkin' enough for slush man.
Roads are very flat here & the Galena roads are mostly 1 laners.
Illinois is a miserable place.
Move back to California & keep your F. =)

I’ve got a 91 Landcruiser for winter duty. Love it. I guess the decision is up to you on what you want, can afford, and can store.

The Land Cruiser and LX 570 are excellent vehicles. Drop by IH8MUD.com for tons of good information.

Take a look at the GX470/GX460/4Runner as well. Still very very reliable and quite a bit cheaper if you are thinking about storing your F during winters. Midwest winters suck. Rust will kill everything including Land Cruisers.

Keep the F and get a cheaper winter beater. Take a look at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet. I have tracked there for about 4 years. It's a great place to get your speed fix.

I found a super clean and well maintained one owner LX570. Now I’m on the fence about pulling the trigger on it. I still love my ISF and will miss the speed and handling but only get that a few times a year and not at all during winter. Now doing the math to see if I can have both and sit on the ISF. Wondering when the prices will bottom out on the ISF.

I have an isf and a Lexus rx350 for daily and winter driving. Winters here do suck but keep the f if you can. A lot of us store them for the winter, but enjoy them in the nicer months.
