Default RCF Motor swap?

So I know the displacement is the same but not sure about the motor mounts etc. It would be great to have a full bolt on RCF motor in the ISF get an extra 50 horses NA. I guess the main issue would be the ECU? I believe the tranny is the same but wonder if you would need the ECU form the RCF too? There are a couple of them for sale on ebay right now at around 12k.

From experience on other Toyotas, you'd need the ECU, wiring harness, and all. You'd have to have someone change up some pins that go back to the body harness I'm sure. One thing you'd have to overcome is the immobilizer. Not sure how that would transfer over. I would think it can be done, but it can be tricky depending on the car. Rafi at RRRacing may have more info on this.

Now you're talkin', let's get the ball rolling on this. There should be no issues with the size of the engine & transmission. Then there's that TVD...

But what if you didnt use any of the RCF electronics and just plug in all your ISF spark plugs and connectors?

The timing and fuel maps are almost definitely different. It's higher compression so I'm positive that they cannot be the same. Maybe need a standalone since the ecu can now be cracked and programmed.

My advice here is to send a PM to Jeff Lange. He posts on the 2IS forum. He's a Lexus Tech, extremely knowledgeable guy. He transplanted an IS350 engine into an IS250 MT. I'm sure he'll be able to help.

The ultimate swap would be the blue top 2UR-GSE with the RR S/C in the ISF =

Anything is doable just comes down to $$$$ the electrics are the biggest headache but your not gaining much HP for all the work. But the bragging rights is right up there RCISF

I'm curious to see it done but honestly I don't see the benefit of all the work for 50 hp when you can boost for about the same. Be nice to know someone did it for the future if/when our motors get harder to come by or something.

Here's a youtube video of an RCF engine swapped into the ISF CCS-R as proof that the RCF engine can be physically swapped into the ISF chassis.

Question then becomes, how much more work needs to be done?

The RCF motor uses the Atkinson cycle so you would need the engine control modules to go along with it. If those would be in addition to the $12k price of admission and labor still had to be added this is a pretty expensive proposition.
If cost wasn’t a factor then it would be sweet to see this swap happen for someone other then Toyota’s racing team.

If cost was was a factor I would shoot for the supercharger instead.

Whats involved with that? I just assumed its the ECU that controls this.
