Default Lexus isf to camaro zl1....a farewell

Hey guys ! Hate to say this but after 10 years of being a Lexus owner and 24 track days in a daily driven ISF I decided to stray in search of more power, performance, tech, and track focus. Lexus is an amazing brand but they still lack the focus and power to produce real track cars. All we have are GT cars and sports sedans that are trackable. I wanted the real F'n deal. I decided to set brand loyalty, the Kool Aide, and the Lexus fanboiism aside and look objectively at the sports car market. This was the fastest and most track focused car I could fit in. I almost went with the 1 LE package but wanted the 10 speed.
2018 CAMARO ZL1 in nightfall grey with rare sunroof delete and PDR ( performance data recorder). This thing is faster than an LFA for Gods sake !! I can't wait to play on the track with it.

If you follow F THE TRACK on Facebook it's still going to continue. PASSED 14,000 members and growing !!!!!!! To those few here who thought my level of enthusiasm for the F cars was crazy I must announce that as of tonight I've had 3 offers to buy F THE TRACK. Enthusiasm pays

Wishing all the F'ers at CL nothing but the best. I'll see you guys on the track !! PLEASE
REMEMBER THE CRAZY DUDE WHO DID 24 TRACK DAYS IN AN ISF IN 40 MONTHS ON 10 TRACKS WITH NO MECHANICAL ISSUES OR BREAK DOWNS. YOU ARE DRIVING AN OVER ENGINEERED CAR. IF YOU ONLY COMMUTE IN IT TOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DRIVING

Congrats man!! What an amazing beast. You won't have to worry about doing any mods with that car. Is this going to just be a track car or will you be using it as a daily driver also?

I'm not too happy with your decision making, I would have gone for the 1LE option for future collector status. Im also not sure if you'll achieve the same feat of no breakdowns in as many track days and same time frame. I'm only j/k congrats to you and the new beast hope you have manny happy miles with this beast. A friend of mine and I we were just discussing the other day what would be our choice as a factory ready track weapon for reasonable $ and the zl1 1le came to my mind also the new m2 CS which will be an instant classic with only 150 avail. On another note please come back and provide feedback with your GM experience. Im not sure who will replace your brand ambassador on this forum I think we need to have an Election.

Cheers

Will definitely miss your enthusiasm here!
Maybe I missed it, but did you sell/trade the ISF or still have it?
I've seen a few of those new Camaros at WannaGoFast events and they are pretty darn fast.
And I'm sure in a straight line it's faster than a LFA, but other so sure about on a track.
Enjoy the new car!
Just curious, but why not go with the zO6/ZR1 at this point?!

Congratulations on the new ride, Tammer. While your enthusiasm for the IS F may have occasionally been considered just a little bit over the top by some , it was always entertaining, and I for one will miss your contributions to CL.

BTW, I have an idea for your next online venture if you plan to continue sharing your enthusiasm for flogging your daily driver at the track. F The Track was unique because it helped spread the word on what an often overlooked performance gem that the IS F is. However, a Camaro focused page would likely get lost in a sea of similar pages since it's such a well known car.

How about a page for people who actually daily drive their track car? Not just the occasional drive on weekends or to a C&C, but actually use it as their primary mode of transportation M-F, then go drive the **** out of it at the track on weekends. Just a thought... Best of luck to you.

I'd also be interesting in hearing a long term review on your Zl1

Congratulions in the new ride! The ZL1 is definitely on my short list of next vehicles I would like. I can’t think of a better ‘bang for your buck’ performance car out there right now. Also, thanks for all your contributions to the F community and helping to bring awareness to the F brand! Even though I had already bought my F when you made your video reviews they were greatly appreciated as I had never seen such an extensive review by an owner. Happy trails!

I’m also looking forward to your ZL1 review.

Enthusiasm is contagious!

Z06 notoriously overheats and limp modes on the track, no reports of ZL1 doing it.

Wow, of all guys to sell their F, this guy would of been one of the last I would have chosen. Appreciate your work at helping put the F on the map on social media. Good luck with the ZL1

Congratulations Tammer on your new ride. As others have said, kudos to you for bringing attention to the F. I've always enjoyed watching your vids.

Please keep in touch with this forum. I'm very much looking forward to your in depth review of the ZL1. It's "apples & oranges", but maybe you could do a comparison review with the F for CL?

Great choice. The PDR system is a must have for any track junkie. Enjoy your new ride.
