The point about the 458 Italia is well taken, and speaks to my chief complaint - why does the US market LFA weigh more than my hardtop Supra? Toyota went to great lengths to make the LFA light, and it is not bad in other markets, but in the US, it's a pig. A horribly heavy pig. Does this mean we in the US are doomed to overweight cars because our legislators (who understand absolutely nothing about high performance automobiles) have been suckered into requiring our cars to be engineered to overcome the fundamental deficiencies in driver training in the US? (Driving safety is a triad - roads, cars, and drivers).

I had GREAT hope for the RC F. I mean REALLY GREAT hope. I wasn't asking for much. Make it the same weight as the IS F with a more powerful engine. Should be pretty simple to achieve, no? Not 3100 pounds like I would really hope to achieve (Corvette weight), but the same 3742 lbs my IS F weighed at Roebling Road and just a little more power. That would have been awesome. Sadly, it was not to be.

And to ice the cake - just tonight, the wife said no more than 4 hours in the GS F. She's 6 months pregnant, so her tolerance is low to start, but she said point blank, the seats in the IS F are more comfortable than the seats in the GS F. Why? Makes no sense to me.
Not to go too much off topic but same thing is happening in the "auto-cycle" or 3 wheels vehicle category.
They want to bring airbags, TC, ABS and other "safety" systems to them.
Right now a Campagna T-Rex is 1150 lbs and is a real drivers machine. It won't be the same dynamics if they bring all these safety features.
They don't care about drivers.

You mean Japanese Chrysler doesn't make a solid car lol?

It's also even uglier than the RCF, and that's hard to do

Never spent 4 hours sitting in my life (unless I fell asleep). Ever. Get upright & move around every 90 min.

I think they dropped the ball on this one. An 08 isf is right there with a new rcf! Lol 0-60 4.3 on an isf 4.4 on an rcf 12.7 qm on an isf and 12.6 on an rcf... again lexus should have reduced weight or create more power to compete with other v8s on a stock level.

"More low-end torque could help it feel quicker off the line. Other strikes against it: a cramped interior, dated ergonomics, thirst for fuel, and steep price." - C&D Review

This was describing IS-F in 2014, but call me crazy, it makes just as much relevance to RCF in 2015.

I have an IS-F that I love. But I would love to upgrade to an RC-F. Only thing stopping me is of course....the wife and 'do you really need it, you already have a nice car' statement. If I find one locally for $45 with decent milage CPO, me and the wifey will have a long chat.

Gonna wait to see what they do with the next gen RC-F. Should be more powerful and hopefully less weight.

More power + less weight = Turbo V6

I think one of the main reasons people buy ISF/RCF is V8, no?

Saw one or two few weeks ago (don't know which state), with around 30k miles I think, CPO. I am guessing none CPO should be even cheaper at this point, or perhaps it was just a good deal...

The fact that the RCF has dipped that low, which ironically is the price for some ISF's, shows how much of a turd it is. Shame.

I love the RCF, that being said I love the rawness of the ISF more. If they were able to make the RCF weigh at least the same as the ISF I'd say it's superior but, I think they equal out based on the modernism of the RCF and its refinement vs. the speed and experience of the ISF.

I wouldn't call it low its just the price of the car. M4s are roughly in that range as well, and its miles better. For $50k even, you can grab a nearly brand new M2 these days
