Oh yeah, good ol' cam'd pulleys...
Similarly, you can also check out well-maintained E9X M3 and C63 AMG, also good options depending on their conditions. If the M3 didn't have this many potential catastrophic failures, I'd buy that since it has the manual transmission and has a better handling all around.

Man that's one heck of a car - thank you for offering and I'll definitely keep it in mind - sometimes the best cars are the ones that aren't actually for sale.

In terms of actual options, there aren't a whole lot available on the IS F (unlike the pages and pages of Porsche options). The key option to think about in my mind is the ML stereo; most of them have it, but a few don't. I don't think it would entirely prevent me from purchasing the car though. The other option, which I was hunting for but didn't end up getting, was the pre-collision distance cruise control option whcih is highly rare (but extra safe). The other options, depending on the year, included intuitive park assist (pretty nice), headlamp washers (meh, would avoid), car cover, wheel locks, and that's about it. The most serious options people get excited about are color, which will drive price most significantly. 2012+ had the red leather interior option, and 2011 had the suede (which is great, but harder to take care of and keep clean).
