Default CEL after installing PPE headers RR tuned intake and exhaust.

I had RR racing install the PPE headers, tuned intake and tune about a month ago. Just last week 4 codes popped up P2198, P2241, P2242, and P2256, all codes poinst to faults in bank 2 sensor 1. Which I think is the o2 on the passenger side header. Anyone experienced this?

to my knowledge the o2 sim is not required with the tune.

run a search on this.. I remember seeing that people were having issues with the O2 extenders melting.

As I explained to you via email, unfortunately, this problem happens sometimes after header installation. This is either the Air/Fuel Sensor (primary O2 sensor) failed (happens in about 1/4 of the time after header installation) or the wiring harness failed -- happens rarely, but this happens as well. This should be an easy fix. Please schedule an appointment with our shop, and we will take care of this issue.

Yea, I had this happen when we installed my PPE's. My CEL's were all for the bank 1 sensor (Drivers side). Funny thing, I installed two brand new Denso upstream sensors and one was DOA. I put one of my old O2 sensors in and it fixed it..

I got the Denso O2 sensors off Amazon, they had the best price. They swapped out the defective one with no questions asked.

My primary O2 sensor (driver's side) died about a month after header installation.. CEL codes were P2239 & P2252 for Bank 1, Sensor 1. I went ahead & replaced both primaries as a precautionary measure. It's been fine ever since.

I had code P0051 after i installed headers (with RR Tune). My issue was the PPE extender was with the O2 extender. I replaced both O2 sensors as a precaution since we were back under the and haven't had an issue in over 1 year.

The tune bypasses the secondary O2 sensors if you select it. This is the car if you have or want a primary cat delete. In his case, sensor 1 is the primary O2 I believe.

I plan on checking the extenders this weekend. Pretty sure it's the isssue. Doubt the o2/air fuel ratio sensor is bad.

The tune deals with the secondary/O2 sensors. The problem the OP is having is with one of the primary/air fuel ratio sensors.

Even though they look similar, each sensor does a different job. It is common for old primary/air fuel ratio sensors to go bad during or after installation of headers.

Tune fixed my cel issue and I've been running it for over 6 months with zero problems. Thanks Rafi & Simon!

Changed the air/fuel ratio sensor. All is good now. The sensor probably got fouled from the smoke(which is normal) on the initial startup after installation of the headers. Thanks Simon from RR racing for help with troubleshooting.
