Default Rrracing carbon intake elbow quality

I was wondering if everyone else's intake elbow looks like mine. The inside tract is not smooth and inside mine, there is a plastic piece that is loose and would flap around as air flows through it and possibly would detach and go through the engine. I've already contacted rrracing and they said it's normal basically.

You should call RR Racing and deal with them directly. Maybe they had a bad batch but they should be able to give you insight rather quickly.

They have been pretty responsive which is great. I just don't feel, from an engineering perspective with it not being smooth inside, air will not flow smoothly through it too. Agree bad batches happen. Just wanted to get another perspective if a "good" one is smooth inside or not from other members that have this intake.

Mine looks very similar to yours. I wouldn't think its normal either, but i guess it is what it is and i will just clean off whatever is loose before install.

Hi.... I can absolutely assure you that those minor surface lines on the inside of the pipe have no effect on the flow. Of course, this pipe, nor any other intake elbow, makes any power increase... unlike others we do not make such claims, but it certainly doesn't reduce power either!

You pay see some think plastic bag remnant on the inside, we will make sure to inspect them from now on. The bag is a remnant from the molding process, where pressure is applied from the inside while a vacuum is pulled on the part.

Well great customer service. Simon reached out to me via phone. Me being a perfectionist, I am nit-picky. I guess it should be fine.
