If I were going to buy a new set of tires today I would likely try the PS4S. The PSS is a great well rounded tire, and supposedly Michelin raised the bar with the PS4S.
i don't think i need a A/S in Texas. Everything melts with this heat.

Why were you considering BFG A/S tires then?

I'm in San Antonio as well and have been running 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 PSS year round for the past 5 years. Obviously great in the dry and they hold their own very well on rainy days.

Ok, since you're in San Antonio Texas I took a look to see what average winter temperatures are and it seems like January is the coldest month averaging around 38 degrees, Feb 42degrees, so you should be ok with Summer tires for Jan. Below 40 degrees summer tire performance falls off they are designed to work above 40 degrees. I would go with 255/35/19F with either 275/30/19R or 285/30/19R this comes down to preference as well as which tires you decided to go with.

My preference is 255/35/19F with 275/30/19R this setup is closer to a square setup the difference between the front and rear tires is only -0.79 or -7.3% front 10.4in and is rear 10.83in wide. The 285 -1.18 or -10.5% difference between front and rear with 255 front tire. The 285 is 11.22 in.wide hopefully this helps.

...or if you really want some grip, install 255/35R19 front and 265/35R19 rear Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires!!! They won't last you nearly as long, but they will grip for days.

I'm running 275/35/19 rear, but I can get a good deal on 285/35/19, what are your thoughts on the size both tyres are RE050A, I need them soon cheers. I'm just a bit concerned about the 35 profile on the 285. The 275/35 fill the guard very nice still plenty of room for 285 and they are good price.

You want the total Tire circumference to be as close to 26in that's the golden number for front or rear thats factory setup and you want be as close as possible to that number. By going with 285/35/19R this will be to put you at 26.85 to tall. Your average 285/30/19R comes in around 25.73in that's just -.26 well within respectable range. That a difference of 4.4% between these two tire sizes. But +.85 is to tall had been +10 or +15 over 26in mark that would be acceptable. Side wall height 3.37 for 285/30/19R vs 3.93 for 285/35/19R. Here's a complete breakdown for you and both Inches and millimeters on everything you need to know.

With this information, if someone runs 255/35/19 for fronts, shouldn't one be running something like a 295/30/19 in the rear? I'm running factory size tires on an aftermarket rim...9" front and 10.5" rear... I'm getting CRAZY wear in the front inside of my tires. Alignment is pretty much bang on and I get an alignment every 6 months (life time alignment program). Also running aftermarket lower control arm bushings from FIGS. I bought the FIGS bushings because I thought it would solve my tire wear issue.. I heard that if I went with wider tires in the front, it might improve the contact patch and therefore fix my excessive wear? But if I move the rear tires, currently 255/35/19 to the front....I think running anything other than a 295/30/19 would create a mismatch in the overall tire diameter front vs back....?????????

Just F Me, what alignment spec are you running? You may want to go 0 toe in the front. Also you may just have maxed out the geometry angles you can run and get regular tire wear by going that big. IDK. I'm running 245/30/19 up front with RR Racing LCA bushings and getting pretty even wear at zero toe.

I'm running 255/35/19 and 295/30/19 (Bridgestone S-04) on RCF wheels with RRRacing Bushings. Tire wear in front and rear for that matter, is even

Goodyear asymmetric2 run much wider than any other tires in the same size.

I recommend the new Kumho Escta PS01s. The car is very feels very planted and you cannot beat the price.
I am running 245/35 & 275/30 on the blades so only 8/9 widths.

25mm spacer in front/20mm spacer in back. Rear quarter panels slightly rolled toward the back.
