Default Ever drop the "ice cold ac" line?

Is it just me, or do you cringe when you look at an Autotrader ad for a car and the first thing you see is "ice cold ac".

Serioiusly, are we back in 1956? Is this still in the used care salesman's guide to landing a big sale?? Sadly, even private sellers roll with the same lingo. Probably the last two times I bought from a private seller, I don't even think I tested the AC! It's pretty much just a given that it will work.

I'm just saying, perhaps, just perhaps, it's time to move onto another tag line, like, "drives straight as an arrow" for example, or "headlights bright as a beacon" or maybe, "brakes stop every time".

Thoughts on some other tag lines that a modern day salesman could utilize to move past the "ice cold ac"??

Or have you dropped the "ice cold ac" line yourself.....?

"Wouldn't hesitate to drive the car across the country"

"Car is mechanically solid and doesn't need a thing"

Only if those actually apply then again the majority of cars I sell are German so those are definitely two lines a buyer wants to hear

LOL!! Statements right out of the salesmans playbook!

Oh, and another thing...if you are a salesman you have to hang out and smoke until your next victim arrives and then stink up their new car with your stanky suit

As a tech, I have to tell you there is some truth to this. Over time the vehicle can lose some of its charge of refrigerant, usually from a very small slow leak.. the AC will still work, but the temperature coming out of the vents will not be as cold as a car with a full charge.
Also, if repairs to the ac system were made, and an incorrect amount of refrigerant was replaced in to the system (sometimes guys will only replace what they recover) then the system will be low, and temperatures at the vents will not be as "ice cold" as a vehicle will a full charge
so "ice cold" ac is still a thing.. just a term to describe a fully charged and fully functioning system
some manufactures will give a temperature spec to measure at the vents to ensure the system is working at full capacity

I wont lie just being into Toyota for years now, that's usually what I think when I see Toyota vehicles no matter how old lol. My boy had a 96 Toyota Camry and that car had the coldest AC I ever experienced..

Me and a friend saw an LFA at Mfest here in vegas and the first thing we said to each other was "I bet this car has ice cold AC" lolololololol

Ice Cold AC is the best selling point for me personally. I don't even care of the vehicle does not run, but it better have that Ice Cold AC I've been looking for.

But in all seriousness, people pay a pretty penny to have their AC systems fixed.

Depending on where you live, "ice cold ac" is a must. Try buying a used car in AZ, and later finding out the AC doesn't work. A car with no AC is useless in AZ.
I know a lot of folks in SoCal are also picky about having working AC, and it doesn't actually get that hot here.

When I was in the Air Force I worked on a piece of gear that liquefied whole air and boiled off unimportant gases. Car air conditioning is dead simple. Yep, got the vacuum pump, gauges, and the knowledge to make "ice cold a/c" on any car - R12 or R134a, and even have R22 gauges to service my home A/C with the Emerson Check and Charge app.

I once lost the magnetic clutch in my Supra. The front bearing in the power steering pump shelled out and sliced the insulation on the wire to the clutch causing it to short out. Good lord, that car was never intended to be operated without working A/C!

it is a must over here in all the ads. The a/c is definitely very important this part of the world so the line actually works.

I've got a 30 yo hilux with working ac. It's got a leaky windshield gasket and sometimes lives outside in the winter, yet it defrosts in no time.

I drop the line.
