Small piece of news here. The factory service manual says replace those springs each and every time you replace the pads. As well as the pins and the bridge bolt.

Very interesting. I know that in the past on my other cars I've had pads that fit tighter in the caliper than others--I wonder if the stoptech pads I had previously were on the larger side and deformed the springs compared to the NS400s. Perhaps one final insult from the Stoptech pads...

I'm now feeling a bit more hopeful that these kits will solve the problem.

04947-0W010 Fitting kit. Spring, pins, and bridge bolt all in one part number for ONE caliper.

04945-0W010 Shim kit. Also stated in the FSM and replace on principle, for TWO calipers.

90998-94072 Grease. Goes between the shim and the back of the brake pad. One tube is plenty.

since you had the StopTech pads previously, how certain are you which clips/hardware kit is on your car? Did whoever install the Stoptech pads use the kit that came with the stoptech pads or re-use the OEM? I installed Stoptech pads in April and used the supplied clips and pins included with the pads and have no noise.

My stop tech street pads have never come with clips or pins. Either I was ripped off or the "Street Performance" pads don't come with the hardware. They do come with a backing plate/shim looking thing already attached though. I've never replaced my clips or pins but I guess I'll do that next time for peace of mind.
Here's a picture of the rears I haven't install yet.

Here the box for my fronts, street performance as well. The label indicates that it comes with hardware kit.

This is a great point. The previous owner from this site had the Stoptechs put on, thus there is a chance that the hardware is from the Stoptech pads---if those pads did come with the springs etc

I would have to imagine the Stoptech installation kit could not be of high quality if it did indeed come with the pads, as the Stoptech pads are cheap and the oem springs and pins cost 85$ for all four wheels. I watched a video about the Stoptech pads and they didn't mention anything about springs and pins.

Hopefully within a couple of weeks I will have this mystery solved...waiting for the oem spring kits to arrive.

The so called hardware Stoptech is referring to is an integrated shim with the pad. They do not include anything beyond that. The integrated shim is also noisy and requires more frequent lube to prevent piston noise.

My set that's pictured came with new pins and clips for the caliper/pads. Not sure why others didn't.

Front $21.66x2 + tax
Rear $13.65x2 + tax

~$45 + $29 + shipping is pretty close to 85$

That is news to me for sure. I've been reusing mine and haven't had any issues. So glad you mentioned this, thank you!
