Default Detailed the '10 today

I'm actually posting this to get information as well as comment on product.
I've been using MeGuiars products for 25yrs. I've loved them and found them consistent with their results. I'd like to think that they have always given me a sharp looking finish.
Today I started adding some Chemical Guys product to the mix and the results seem to have stepped it up a notch.
Have any of you tried Chemical Guys products and what were your results?

Today I tried their V7 Spray Sealant and there Hex-Logic pads. They both appear to have improved the results.

What I did:
Wash - hand
Clay - hand
MeGuiar's #9 Swirl remover - on buffer with White Hex Logic Polishing Pad
Chemical Guys V7 Spray Sealant - hand
MeGuiar's #7 Show Car Glaze - on Buffer with Blue Hex Logic Polishing Pad
MeGuiar's Nxt2 wax - on Buffer with Red Hex Logic Pad

The Wheels were with Rejex polymer coating

Your Matador Red looks stunning! The color pops even more than I had imagined. Honestly, I'd take a six year old red IS F over most red new cars today. They just don't have that luster that can be maintained over time. Lexus did great with this shade. Nice work on the detail, my friend!

Elliot, can you please share how you jacked up the rear of the car to get the rear wheels off?

I'm sort of a noob with jacking up my ISF, and I don't want to mess anything up. I have a Jegg's jack.

Thanks,

Peleg.

I've used their hex pads with good results. I believe they're a touch conservative when it comes to the cutting pads - the yellow I believe could've been a little more abrasive when buffing - but besides that I use them with my Flex all the time.

I like Meguiars as well but typically keep their products for the smaller jobs. Just personal preference. My typical spring routine is similar to yours:
  • Wash
  • Clay
  • Flex polish on Pinnacle product remover (blue pad I believe). Remove.
  • Wash
  • Spot buff orange / yellow pad. Whole car was buffed in 2015, no need to redo this yet. I use Wolfgang's Swirl Remover as my abrasive product.
  • Wolfgang polymer paint sealant 3.0 on black hex pad. Let it dry completely. Remove.
  • P21s a week later by hand then every other week.
Great results. Nice car!

You can jack the car up by the rear diff or use the scissor jack on the pinch welds right in front of the tire. If you have a low enough jack, you can hit the frame rail and jack it up from there.

Chemical guys products have always done me well, with their foam cannon setup I don't even need to polish the car anymore because it's almost impossible to get swirl marks with it. Did a full 2 step correction with V36 and V38 with their hexlogic pads and had to use V34 in some places. Car came out perfect both times I've done a full correction. I did run out of V36 and V38 the second time i did a full correction and used some left over Meguiars ultimate compound and ultimate polish that I got from auto zone one time and that seemed to work just as well imho. I've heard from many others that Chemical Guys products are overpriced though so you could probably get some products just as good (if not better) for cheaper.

Thanks for the comments on Chem Guys. My initial impression was they were priced high as well

yeah I can co sign the above statement, been using chemical guys for years and I love their products. I keep bottles of the quick detailer, window cleaner, and tire shine at all times with me for both my cars. their interior sprays are awesome too, my friend used some of the grape scent in my car and 2 sprays lasted for a week or 2
