Is full Synthetic 5w30 needed or Synthetic blend is good enough?

 

There's quite a few threads on which oil is best floating on the forum. You'll be fine with anything 5w-30. The car actually comes with with conventional from the factory.

 

Yeah co sign what Jeff said, so many threads on it. I would just run any synthetic 5w-30 and you'll be fine

 

Full synthetic works well. Some of the common oils used that I've seen here are Motul, Amsoil, Mobile 1 and RedLine oil.

I personally swear by RedLine 5W-30 and both my IS-F and Toyota Highlander seem to like it. My buddy just put it in his Silverado V8 (and he drives the hell out of that truck since he's a landscape) and is very happy.

You can also get the oil filter cartridge (it's not like the old school filter) on ebay. (OEM)

 

Blackstone Labs suggested 8K miles oil & filter change on the conventional oil a few years ago. With time constraining and the short commuting in a constant traffic, I switch to Mobil 1 synthetic every 10K miles or one year, whichever comes first. I'm sure it will say the synthetic oil can easily handle 15K miles on the next oil analysis after I send it in.
