Getting the dealership "expertise" on our cars is a myth. There are no dealership experts. If you are really lucky, the guy who works on your car owns one, then maybe they'll do it right, but IME, that's a long shot and not worth the aggravation. I just upgraded my TIS subscription to Diagnostic Technician so I can do my own reflashes and can have my own legal copy of Techstream. I am nothing but disappointed with dealership techs. At every opportunity they have had to impress me, they have failed miserably.
100% accurate where I live. This is no matter how much I "dazzle" the SA - politely of course - with how much I know about the car. Each of the three dealerships I've taken my car to have shown varying degrees of incompetence. The worst being Woodfield Lexus - arguably located near the best clientele in Chicagoland.

I write / speak concisely and in plain English to all SAs yet my car is always overfilled with oil, they always "forget" I'm still on CPO, they "forget" something on my list, they shattered my wiring harness and even wash the car with a fking "DON'T WASH" sign pasted in their faces.

The only reason I even take it to them is for an intact service history. I'm rethinking whether or not this is worth the trouble as each trip is a tooth-grinding experience in both incompetence and twitter attention spans.

the thing about dealership techs is you can't sit next to them and see the work they are doing, which i refer if i pay someone to do a job for me. I need my plugs changed as well and front brakes(new pads on the way), so i'll be doing this very shortly as cash is limited right now. plus my son will help and i can show him how to wrench, however i'll be learning as well as i haven't done this on the F before.

Plugs, All filters, Engine oil, Rear Diff, Brake fluid.....maybe PCV valve and Valve clearance check. Without valve clearance check I assume its around $1000-1200

It depends on the dealership, but just for the spark plugs the quotes i got ranged from $450 to $650ish, and then the rear diff was another $150ish. So for the full service, i agree with Kolyan, youre probably looking at $1000+. It would probably be best to take care of the easy stuff on your own

I changed the spark plugs in the F this weekend, if you have done other spark plugs you can do these. The only difference is the very limited space on both sides nearest to the fire wall, planning on doing the differential oil next since I just hit 68k on the odometer

Good to hear another opinion on this - I'll be tackling plugs soon. They just arrived in the mail.
