Tom's rear diffuser replicas.
Hey everyone, been looking around on ebay and it seems like there's a look of people copying these, since I work with painting cars and wanna have my diffuser black I'm thinking of just going replica, does anyone know wich seller to go with?
They will have to ship to sweden.. :) |
Well if they're coming from puerto rico it's the same group of guys it's just listed under different sellers for some reason. Anyhow they treated me well. The 1st two I received were damaged in shipping and they did replace them with no issues what so ever. Fit is ok but from what I understand even the original has some small fitment issues. I had a body shop install mine and now it's starting to come untaped from one side.
If I had to do it again I would not run a diffuser. It looks good yea but knowing that I'll have to take it back to get fixed again is a pain. |
What Justin said.. I got one from them as well but have been thinking about just doing S4Play and vinyl so I don't have the coming undone issue.

i have the original toms and fitment was perfect.. . you get what you pay for..

Group a motoring has them as well. Not sure if they are on eBay but if you Google it go to their FB page

I've heard pretty good things regarding Group A. I don't have FB and their website is pretty crappy, so guess you would have to call them and see if they have any diffusers available or if they are just made to order.

^^ +1 I'm not on Fb either. I emailed them through their website that has nothing on it and they promptly returned my email answering what I was asking.

Not a fan of carbon fiber parts, so I bought from LexuryParts on eBay. The item arrived with couple scratches and was matte/satin and not glossy. I was thinking it would be the same plastic as I got with my Bayson R lip(also eBay) which is more durable, but this finish required painting. To their credit, it only looked glossy in certain photos, they did state it would come unpainted, but with the minor scratches they offered a 20% discount. Had a local shop paint it gloss black and install. Fitment I'd say is 95% good and overall I'm happy with it.
Yes, you do get what you pay for, and I paid under $450 all said and done. |
I kind of wish someone would offer it in ABS. Would conform to the bumper perfectly, cheap to produce, and would be easy to paint. CF is kind of lost on black unfortunately.

So $200 less than an authentic Toms? Guess if the fitment is good then there's a legit savings. Plus isn't Toms 1x1 rather than 2x2 weave?

contacted lexuryparts @ ebay, we'll see what they say with the total cost and shipping to sweden and so on, if I buy I'll let you know what I think about fitment and quality :)
