Default How to Tighten Front Seat??

i tried to search but couldn't find the thread that mentioned tightening the front driver's seat. i know a member has had it done by the dealer. does anyone know how to tighten up the seat? i can feel that it's getting loose, moving front to back, like a mini rocking, under hard braking or over bumps or hard turns. not sure if it's something i can do myself or if i'll have to take it to a professional. as reference, i only weigh about 162 so i find it odd that my weight could loosen things but just wear and tear i suppose?

if anyone can show me where and what bolts or screws i could potentially tighten, i would greatly appreciate it. thanks.

I have had to do it every 6-8 months because of 18 trackdays and my huge frame. Just take a socket wrench, pop off the covers at the base of the seat that hide the bolts, tighten all 4 corners and the just pop the covers back on. I have had 1/4 to 1/2 full turn . It's usually the rears that are the loosest since the receive the most torsion.

JUST did mine. mine would squeak so damn much it made the car feel cheap. so satisfied now that they are tight. use a 14mm socket or even 15 to tighten them.

I found some spring loaded cord locks in a tan color that matched my tan interior.

took one minute to install them and they look great.

both nets now look nice and tight and the tan cord locks blend in perfectly.

^^^^Don't know if the seat belt mechanism is the same on a 90s SC as it is on an ISF. I had a '93 SC300 5MT and as I recall the belts were different.

I was trying to tighten bolds and I found this under passanger seat. There is no such a metal strip under drivers seat. What is it?

That didn't come from the factory. Looks like there may have been aftermarket seats in the car previously.

How do you remove the seat bolt covers without breaking the plastic? I can't seem to find the area that clips in/on and I don't want to break the plastic.

Use a taped screwdriver and go from the side. The latches are on the sides, and if you get under them the plastic will lift.
