Default Borla drone eliminated in 20 minutes for 20 bucks

I bought these off Amazon 12 weeks ago and they finally arrived from China:

https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Exhaust-Muffler-Silencer-Diameter/dp/B00VG90W7K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1485811668&sr=8-3&keywords=uxcell+motorcycle+silencer https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Exhaust-Muffler-Silencer-Diameter/dp/B00VG90W7K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1485811668&sr=8-3&keywords=uxcell+motorcycle+silencer

They are small enough that you can sneak them in there, no need to remove the bumper or tips or anything. Just needed to drill a small hole in the outlet of the borla for the mounting screw.

They can be removed in less than a minute per side. The drone is completely GONE. The loud bass droning of the exhaust is gone, but the sound is still almost the same as it was before.

Highly recommend giving this a try. Since I daily drive my car, I plan on keeping these installed during the winter months. But first impressions are so good, I may leave these in full time

can u share if you experience any power loss? it looks kinda restricting

also, can you clarify if you install these in 2 of the 4 outlets? or all 4 outlets? in order to quiet down the drone

I took it for a highway pull, and engine power seems healthy still, but its hard to tell for sure, since its winter, its cold, and I'm driving on 225 wide winter tires.

Put these in the lowers only. 2 out of 4.

BLKBLK,
Do you have headers installed? I'm just wondering if this would work with cars with headers installed since they are louder.

No headers, Only mods are K&N intake, And Borla catback exhaust.

I can't see why these wouldn't quiet down header equipped cars.. These things are just essentially plugging off one of the two outlets per side... Which I'm sure causes some exhaust restriction, but it's a balance between performance and sound levels livable for a daily driver.

Will definitely be giving this a try, Might make getting headers more feasible for daily driving.

Thanks for sharing this, I'm going to definitely try this in the summer once it warms up in cold cow town.

These look similar to this http://www.carchemistry.com/cc-inserts/. Install is more involved, since they go at the front of the catback. I used these in a previous car that had headers and a a Borla. It reduced the drone around 90% with no significant power loss.

Apparently it is taking excessive amounts of time for anything to clear Canada Customs, which is causing delays in all shipments from China to Canada. Shipping time should be better for you Americans

And just to add to the thread... There is a member on here, also from Alberta, that installed cut-out valves on the lower Borla outlets.. obviously this is the best of both worlds, having the ability to tune the sound with a flick of a switch.. But for 20 min install and 20 bucks, you can't go wrong with this. In the future I'd still consider getting some cut-outs welded on
