Help: LEMS rear license plate frame
Hey guys, I’m a new IS F (2014) owner and new to the site. I recently purchased a LEMS rear carbon fiber license plate frame and ran into an issue during installation. Turns out the spacing between the mounting holes on the LEMS license plate do not align with the nuts on the trunk lid of my IS F (2014). The mounting holes on the LEMS license plate are spaced wider apart than nuts on the trunk lid. Does anybody know how to adjust the nuts on the trunk lid in order to align the mounting holes? Here is a link of the LEMS license plate frame.
Thanks

I used to own an imported Nissan Skyline and ran into this issue, if I'm understanding you correctly. Basically JDM license plates are a different size than ours and the holes didn't line up to mount a US plate to the back of it.
If so, you're going to need some kind of adapter to use it. I've seen people make a simple bracket out of some spare metal, there are probably places that just make a kit for this now (try Password JDM).
Orrrrrrr if you want to be cheap like me, which I doubt haha, I just went down to my local auto parts store and bought this: https://www.amazon.com/Cruiser-Accessories-79150-Mounting-Plate/dp/B00032K4VA/ref=pd_lpo_263_lp_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=54YSM01JTJB5FQGXA08B . It's tight, but there's enough holes on it to make everything mount to something on it
*this is all assuming you don't want to drill new holes in this pricey part

Car is stock right now, the LEMS carbon fiber license plate frame is pricey but truly one of a kind so worth the money

My suggestion is to drill new holes in the carbon fiber license plate holder. Use your existing license plate as a template to drill the new holes. If you decide to go this route be sure you put some sealer around the newly drilled holes to prevent any delamination from moisture.
