Rr-tune + takeda CAI intake

Just wanna know how many people are using this combo and have you guys compared/tested this combo with just a drop in?

More popular combo is the RR-Racing tune + RR-Racing pipe.

takeda intake is know for loosing power that is the reason no one has that combo with the tune. if you a trying to make power get rr racing intake and tune. our great vendor Meraki Autoworks can help you out with all your needs

I wonder how much more power does the RR Racing Tuned intake with the Titanium elbow than the Takeda. They both look like they have separate compartments to retain "colder" air. I haven't seen a thread that had done an up-to-date on the best intake in terms of power yet.

tuned intake only makes power with aftermarket headers, byt itself is the same as any others

Remember, the RR tuned intake requires the ECU tune because the diameter of the MAF sensor's pipe is increased. Without the tune the car will not run because the MAF is not properly calibrated. The Takeda retains the factory diameter therefore a recalibration of the MAF is not required.

Good point though, I do not remember seeing any dyno's using the Takeda intake, H,E and tune.

you are right about that, i forgot about the MAF calibration with the tune.

I have been researching this a lot, and from what I have seen, you will not make more power than the stock intake unless you upgrade the headers and the intake is the actual "bottle neck". Some of the aftermarket intakes make even less power than stock. They do however sound better at the lower rpms where the valve would normally be closed, so if that is your motivation then any intake will do. Once you do have headers, the RR intake or other larger MAF intakes will likely make more power as they have overcome this airflow limitation.

i think there should be an actual street testing (FBO with takeda vs FBO with just a drop in),this way we can really see how it performs under actual load....i dont really trust dyno numbers,i rely more on actual road conditions

^^^^^^I've been running my Takeda since March of 2010, prior to that I had JoeZ tube with a K&N panel filter. I'm not changing anything.
