Default Engine cover clips

Does anyone else have the same problem?
Everytime I open the hood, I swear I find myself missing some engine cover clips.

I just ordered set of 25 on EBay. However wondering if anyone find a better design of these,
there must be a better way. The OEM style design sucks.

Unfortunately I don't think you'll find a better design. I had the same problem and ended replacing them all, trouble is they are so flimsy and they break even when you are super careful!

The design is fine, it's user error. Trust me I know. The clips have two clicks when you push them down. The first to lock them and the second to free them. If you push them all the way down, they'll rattle right out. Be gentle while locking them and you'll never lose another one.

I made the same experience in the past.

Make it like blckbrd and everything is ok. You will never lose a cover clip anymore.

One company did this. I have been toying with the idea of doing something similar. it's a hex screw with an anodized washer. just have to find a way to secure them. it would make removing those covers more of a pain, but they wouldn't go anywhere.
